What is Liposuction?

Liposuction is a cosmetic surgical procedure where localized fat is broken up and sucked out of the body.  Liposuction is performed by making small incisions in the body in order to insert a thin tube, or cannula, through the incision into localized fat deposits between the skin and muscle of the patient. A suction pump or syringe is then used to suck out localized fat deposits.

What is the recovery time after Liposuction?

Recovery time after liposuction is usually one to two weeks, depending on the area of the body and the amount of localized fat sucked out.  You will see the end results of Liposuction within one to four months after the procedure.

Is Liposuction Painful?

Liposuction is painful but most surgeons perform the procedure under general anaesthesia to ensure that patients don’t feel pain. They also prescribe painkillers for relieving pain after surgery.

Is Liposuction Permanent?

The liposuction procedure permanently removes localized fat. The patient’s body will retain its contour after liposuction, provided the patient does not gain weight.

I had a bilateral breast reduction surgery with Mr Johnson in July. It is now November and I could not be happier with the results. I always received a quick response from Mr Johnson regarding any concerns I had, I always felt he was there to listen to me and my concerns.

Liposuction  
Liposuction is mostly performed under general anaesthetic (though very small areas can be performed under local anaesthetic) and the length of the operation is determined by the extent of the liposuction required. Usually 1-2 days in hospital is required. First, an injection of saline, adrenaline and local anaesthetic is given in the area to be treated. The fat to be removed is accessed through tiny incisions (cuts) positioned near the area to be treated. A hollow tube is placed through these cuts into the fat underneath the skin. The tube is then connected to a special suction pump which removes the fat. The small incisions are either sutured or simply covered with steristrip tapes.
Tummy Tuck  
During the procedure a long curved cut is made in the skin across the lower abdomen at the level of the top of the pubic hair, and a separate small cut is made around the umbilicus ("tummy button"). Beneath the skin and fat the abdominal wall muscles are tightened with stitches and the excess skin and fat are then excised.  The lower wound is stitched with dissolving sutures leaving the resulting scar concealed by bikini style underwear. The umbilicus ("tummy button") is stitched with a combination of dissolving sutures and some that will need to be removed 7-10 days after the operation.

I can’t thank Mr Mcculley enough for the amazing transformation following a breast augmentation, this has changed my life and given me so much more confidence. From the minute I met Mr Muccully I felt completely at ease and trusted him 100%. Following having a child and losing a little weight I had become very unhappy with my breasts this affected a lot of aspects of my life, it took me a long time to make this decision and I wanted a natural look. Mr Mucculley advised partially under the muscle and gave me some advice around sizing for my frame and the look I wanted after a further consultation I decided to leave the decision to size to Mr Muculley I trusted him and his expertise completely. Valerie his secretary was fantastic at answering my questions and got me booked in working hard to get a date around my work commitments. Mr Muculley saw me on the morning of my surgery and confirmed everything the confidence he has in his work and his knowledge provided me with a lot of reassurance this was important to me before going into surgery. The whole procedure was seamless and recovery advice was given by Mr Mcculley has an open door policy and any questions I had after was answered. His website is incredibly thorough and I was regularly checking things! My hospital stay was pleasant and I was looked after really well there was no rush for me to leave the following day and I was checked by Mr Muculley before being discharged. Three months ago I had NeckTite and I am so pleased with my results. From the initial consultation to the procedure and then the three follow up consultations Dr Sagoo answered all my questions, talked through every step of the procedure and put me at total ease. I liked that Dr Sagoo was not pushy but very caring and listened to my concerns. The actual procedure was done in under an hour and pain-free ( I just felt a tugging of my skin) and I went home with everything I needed to recover. Although my neck was bruised and I had to wear a compression garment for three days I was able to carry on with my life. Don't hesitate to book an initial consultation if you are thinking of having anything done as you will get expert advice from a very knowledgeable professional cosmetic doctor! I'm planning on having more treatment and can't wait as it has built up my confidence as I have always been self conscious of my turkey neck but not anymore!
