What is Fat Transfer?

Fat transfer is a surgical procedure that transplants fat taken from the patient’s body to areas of the face and body in order to restore the volume lost because of the process of aging. The procedure is also called fat grafting or fat injection. Typically fat is transferred to the breasts, the buttocks, hands and facial features including the lips, chin and cheeks. Fat transfers are also performed to treat acne scarring.

How is Fat Transfer done?

They should also wear the prescribed compression garments correctly.

The procedure itself was smooth and relatively quick (just under an hour). The recovery process was exactly as I expected and I followed Prof. Mahajan’s post-operative instructions carefully. While there was some swelling and bruising initially, it subsided significantly within the first week. I was back to my normal routine within a couple of weeks, albeit with some minor precautions. The results of my blepharoplasty exceeded my expectations. Moreover, the improvement was subtle and natural-looking, which was exactly what I had hoped for. I feel more confident in my appearance and the heavy-eyed tired feeling has gone.
