I had my surgery with Aktif at vital hospital with Dr Ibrahim Agackiran on the 4th of July 2023. Dr Ibrahim is great, seems to know what he’s doing and is very professional. The surgery went well, and I’m currently down 7 kg in 1 week!! Here are some pros and cons of the surgery and some things to think about if you want to have the surgery. Pros: +The surgeons/doctors at the facility are very professional and good at their job. +The guide/translator Luca was great, super nice and helpful. +I feel great after the surgery but it's a huge adjustment. +They’ve been very helpful at answering all my questions now afterwards and they are quick to reply to you. Cons: - Most of the nurses at the facility don’t speak English so it’s hard to communicate with them but they are very friendly and try their best to help you. -I wasn't given proper info/instructions about my medications (especially the blood thinner syringes I had to give myself). I had to kinda figure it out on my own. I wish they would have shown me how to do it while I was at the hospital. -I wasn’t told how to properly care for the wounds/incisions after the surgery so two of them are infected now. I tried to care for them to the best of my ability and they will hopefully clear out in a couple of days with the antibiotics. -Doctors in Sweden don’t want to help me as much now because I’ve had surgery abroad.

After a little research for my elective surgery, I chose Vanity for their clear instructions of how their service packages work and how respectful they were in what type of surgery I wanted. Every employee from Vanity that I have met, all have a great friendly personality even with the language barriers. I was surprised that a few employees went above and beyond their duties to help me during my hospital stay after surgery. My surgeon was Dr. Safa Manav. I'm happy with the results I got from them. They gave thorough explanations of what I can and cannot achieve with the expectations I had for this surgery. And my Patient Care Coordinator B, was very helpful and the best throughout the process. It was a pleasure to meet them. There were no solicitations. Only Finance Coordinators who respond to those who decide to continue with their services. Expect that prices may change based on your consultation and surgeon, everyone is built differently and your chosen surgeon has their own unique style of how they conduct their business. Remember that YOU are choosing to go to a foreign country to have your elective surgery. You cannot expect every person you meet will speak fluent English or your chosen language. Other than that, I'm loving my decision I made by choosing Vanity. I'm grateful for everything.
