David Hamill

Biography:
Working with people is my passion. I love helping my clients to make their way through and beyond their suffering, which is often accompanied by a new perspective on their life. I feel privileged to be in a position where I can help others move towards understanding, and living a life that is rich with meaning. The approach that I adopt to counselling and psychotherapy is eclectic, incorporating Person Centred, Humanistic, and Existential therapies with cognitive behavioural therapies such as Reality Therapy and more. Just as no two individuals are the same, no two clients' needs will be the same; and so I will tailor the counselling to meet the needs of the individual client. I work with couples, individuals, families and teens. My qualifications include a BA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Professional Certificate in Family Therapy, and a certificate in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training). I have also trained in Mindfulness, Shamanic Psychotherapy, Choice Theory, and Family Constellations. I love learning and continue to resource myself through personal and professional development.
