Connecting Mindfully (counselling & psychotherapy) - Psychotherapy Clinic in Ireland
5.0 from 1 verified review
When something in your life is not how you'd like it to be, or when you're looking for help and support for something that you're going through; perhaps a life event, a particular concern or maybe problems with relationships, at home, in school or at work. Maybe you are experiencing feelings of anxiety, frustration, fear, sadness or other emotions.  Stress can be a part of this.  Counselling can help you to better understand what might be going on for you, and to find ways to effectively manage feelings, thoughts or worries.  My experience is that clients come to counselling because they want something in their life to be different. I appreciate that it's often not easy to come to counselling. I welcome clients with warmth and openness, and a non-judgemental listening ear. I am a Person-Centred Therapist and I use ACT, CBT and Choice Theory to help clients work through an issue or to help them shine a new light on an area of their life that is not currently how they would like it to be. Sometimes what we need is to be listened to and heard.  Coming to see a therapist is a brave step towards getting support.  Allowing yourself to talk about and express what you are experiencing might be what you need at this time.  We often don't 'press pause' in our lives, we often don't give ourselves the time or space to check in with ourselves. Mary Hamill Counselling & Psychotherapy Templeogue - Psychotherapy Clinic in Ireland

Mary Hamill Counselling & Psychotherapy Templeogue

Orwell Park, Templeogue, Dublin 6w, 6w
Qualified support and treatment for all areas of psychological distress.  All clients are guaranteed confidentiality, compassion and a non-judgemental space.  I work on a One-to-One basis within a therapeutic relationship where both client and therapist interact as equals.  I provide both short-term and long-term therapy, as required.Everyday life events can sometimes cause unforeseen difficulties.   A focused, short-term therapy can provide support and a fresh perspective to help understand and cope with the impact of life changes.Long-term therapy provides an opportunity to address more enduring or repetitive problems that impact on our ability to thrive.  These often arise from unconscious processes and require the presence of another to bring to our awareness for resolution to occur. I qualified as an Integrative Psychotherapist from DBS with a BA(Hons).   This degree included a range of psychotherapies that allow me to tailor fit the therapy to meet the need of each individual.  Theoretical approaches included CBT, Person-centered, Attachment & Loss, Trauma & Childhood Trauma, Psychodynamics, Existential and Family Systems. Therapy is available for the following:Anxiety and GADDepressionBereavementFamily relationshipsBorderline Personality DisorderCommunicationsAbuse including Sexual AbuseTraumaPTSDUnresolved Childhood IssuesMary Hamill is a fully accredited psychotherapist and member of ICP, IAHIP & IACP.

Anger Management €60 - €80
Anger is an emotion and like all our emotions it is a form of signal, sending us information.Sometimes we can struggle with our emotions especially when they overwhelm and interrupt our thinking and ability to thrive.Regulating our response to emotions is required in order to attend to the emotion without letting it take over.  I work with clients on their emotional regulation equipping them with the ability to manage emotional responses in a way that empowers and enriches their lives.
Family Divorce/Separation €60 - €80
There are many aspects to consider when family life breaks down.  Loss is a central theme for everyone involved.  Children often require help adjusting to a 'new' normal.  With developmental tasks ongoing, changes bring additional stress and challenges.  I have specific training in this area and can offer help to both parents and adolescents during this difficult transition.
Psychotherapist Consultation €60 - €80
Psychotherapy offers the opportunity to better understand ourselves and how we live.  It can be the difference between surviving and thriving. Integrative psychotherapy does not try to fit the client into one type of therapy as it utilises many different therapies and can tailor-fit the therapy to the individual needs of each person.
