Orthotics
Orthoses are insoles that slip into almost any of your current shoes and will help correct and realign any posture imbalance and gait problems.  Orthoses can help in reducing many of the pains identified during the Biomechanical Assessment. They can be standard ‘off the shelf’ types or custom-made for precise correction.  Custom Orthoses can assist during sporting activities to help prevent damage to feet and lower-limbs that may be prone to injury.
Biomechanical assessment
Pain in our feet is often due to the way our feet and supporting limbs function. Any misalignment, e.g. high arches or flat feet, or excessive mobility can cause pain in the feet, ankles, knees, hips, lower back and even create neck pain and headaches. We carefully assess and measure your gait (the way you walk or run) in order to identify any posture or physical problems; in our Horley clinic, we can do this using our professional standard treadmill and camera system which allows our experts to closely analyse your gait (the way you walk or run) in order to prescribe the appropriate treatment.  Treatments following this assessment may indicate a requirement for a custom or semi-custom orthotic inserts for your shoes. These will be specifically designed for your feet and will help correct and realign your gait.  There are a number of important reasons for a correcting your gait; most often it can alleviate pain in various parts of your body, including knees, hips and back; it also increases the efficiency of your walking and running.

The Foot Care Centre - General Practice in the UK

The Foot Care Centre

The Foot Care Centre, 34 Sussex Road, Haywards Heath, RH16 4EA
Chiropody and Podiatry Our four experienced practitioners, Jon Collins, Becky Waldron, Rosannah Burden and Charlie Young, provide a wide range of general chiropody treatments from corns, callus and verrucae, to ingrowing and fungal toenails. We specialise in treating foot and ankle pain; plantar fasciitis, heel pain/ spur, achilles tendonitis, bunions, medial and lateral knee pain, shin splints, capsulitis / bursitis associated with osteoarthritis in the joints of the foot and ankle. We prescribe semi-modified and custom-made orthotic insoles in conjunction with physical therapies including massage, mobilisation, therapeutic ultrasound and many more as treatment is tailored to the individual. We also treat ingrowing toenails conservatively with cutting in order to take pressure off the sides of the nails, or solve the problem permanently with a simple painless procedure that remove the side(s) of the nail ingrowing and kill off the nail root to prevent it from growing back. Dry Needling for Chronic and Persistent Verrucae. Dry needling is carried out painlessly under local anaesthetic. A sterile needle is then used to cause a localized trauma to the verruca itself. The aim of this is to implant the virally infected cells deeper into the tissue where it is quickly detected by the immune system and an immune response is stimulated. This process has been around for nearly 40 years but it's only recently reaching the shores of the UK from the states. It is very
