About Ascent Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre

What it Will Cost An initial consultation of 45 minutes is between £45 and £50 at present. A follow-up appointment of approximately 30 minutes is between £32 to £40. However, we may find that you need longer than 30 minutes, and we will discuss this with you if this is the case. If you are a member of a private health scheme such as BUPA or PPP, you will find that we are registered consultants with all major schemes. We bill the individual company directly so you don't have to worry about reclaiming money yourself. If you are not privately insured we do ask you to pay each visit and we accept both cash, cheques and debit/credit cards. If you have an on-going claim because of a car accident or work accident, we usually invoice your solicitors who will ask the other party to pay the cost of your treatment. If this is your situation, the sooner you get treatment after the event the quicker you will get better. We will be happy to help by liaising with your legal team if necessary. They also treat: Bursitis Arthritis Osteo-arthritis Rheumatoid Arthritis Ankylosing Spondylitis Osteoporosis

Sarah Johnson

Job Title:
  Doctor
Biography:
Sarah graduated from Teesside University in 1993 with a degree in Physiotherapy. She initially worked for six years within the NHS to gain experience in the skills necessary when working as a musculo-skeletal specialist in the private sector. During that period, she spent some months working in Florida. This enabled her to see physical therapy from a different perspective and added to the skills she had already learned from working in the UK. Sarah made a full-time move to private practice in 1999 when she joined Anna O'Brien in the growing practice in Star Yard, Barnard Castle.

Paul Eddy

Job Title:
  Doctor
Biography:
Paul graduated from Brunel University in 1999 with a degree in Physiotherapy. After initially working in the NHS, he then chose to work for the Ministry of Defense, specialising in the treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal and sports injuries. He has also worked for professional sports clubs, such as Chelsea Football Club and London Broncos Rugby League Club, clinics in the private sector and abroad in Finland and Germany. Paul has undertaken considerable post-graduate study and has been awarded membership to the Manipulation Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MMACP). He is also currently completing a Masters Degree in Manipulative Physiotherapy. Paul has a keen interest in treating sports injuries, particularly associated with golf, athletics, football and rugby. Paul’s clinical philosophy is to ensure the individual needs of each patient are considered and addressed. He uses a variety of techniques to achieve this, which include joint manipulation/mobilisation, soft tissue massage and muscle release, nervous system mobilisation, muscle imbalance and movement dysfunction re-education. He also uses electrotherapy and acupuncture to achieve pain relief and promote healing. Paul and his wife have recently relocated to the area. He has two sons, Jack, aged four and Thomas, aged three.
