Abi Kubiak

Biography:
Abi Kubiak is the clinical director of A.K Physio & Sports Injury Clinic. She qualified in 2003, gaining a first class honours degree in Sports Rehabilitation from the University of Salford, and has since gone on to become a HPC Registered Physiotherapist and a member of the CSP. Abi also attained a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science from Leeds Metropolitan University prior to 2003. She has also completed a Sports Massage Certificate, meaning that she is fully qualified to carry out pre-event, conditioning and post-event sports massage. Abi is also qualified to administer acupuncture and is a member of the AACP (Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists). Since qualifying in 2003 Abi has worked predominantly in a clinic environment, dealing with a wide range of injuries. She has particular experience with sports injuries and whiplash. Abi plays competitive netball and has provided injury care and rehabilitation for Salford University Netball team, and for members of her current team at Knutsford Netball Club. She has also recently taken up triathlon and is a member of Knutsford Tri Club, and has competed in several events since her first in September 2010.

Kate qualified as a chartered physiotherapist in 2004 and has since worked as a specialist in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Previously working as a senior physiotherapist within the NHS, Kate has worked extensively with a wide variety of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions so is able to provide accurate diagnosis and comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation programmes for all clients. She is registered with the Health Professions Council and a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Tegan gained a range of experience throughout her degree in a variety of clinical settings, developing her clinical knowledge and professional development. Continually showing passion to her career Tegan is committed to the care of all her patients. During her time at University Tegan volunteered to provide physiotherapy for the Manchester Chargers in touch rugby tournaments. Tegan is also qualified in sports massage. Outside of work Tegan has an active lifestyle enjoying horse riding, clay pigeon shooting and running. She recently completed the Great North Run to raise money for The Alzheimer's Society.

Clare qualified with a BSc (Hons) in physiotherapy in 2004 from Keele University. She initially worked at Macclesfield District General Hospital for 2 years, but then took a career break from the NHS and completed an MSc in Neuromusculoskeletal Healthcare at Keele University. As part of this course she completed her foundation acupuncture training, and also trained in advanced manual therapy. Clare is experienced in the treatment of musculoskeletal problems, especially whiplash and low back pain. She has worked in occupational health and private practice settings for 5 years. Clare is a keen cricketer, having played at county level and holding 2 coaching qualifications.

Richard Tregarthan

Biography:
Richard has treated a wide range of clients for rehabilitative, correctional and well-being treatments including triathletes, weightlifters, semi-professional footballers, rugby players, runners, cyclists and golfers. He also treats non-sports related injuries. He has teaching experience in anatomy, physiology and the delivery of Sports Massage. Richard has worked at the London Marathon, the Great North Run and various other endurance events providing Sports and Massage Therapies. He is currently working in support of The Sports Injury Team at Altrincham FC as a Sports Masseur for the 2011/2012 season in the Blue Square North League. One of Richard's personal highlights so far is that he has completed an Ironman triathlon and is currently training for another. He enjoys a wide variety of sports and understands that with the right application of appropriate maintenance and pre/post event treatments, that it is possible to improve performances and above all gain relief from aches and pains.

Madeline joined the Team recently after being made redundant from her previous employer after 25 years. She has a background in Wages and Accounts and enjoys the different challenges this new role presents. Madeline will probably answer the phone if you ring us as she is responsible for the bookings for all three clinics in addition to reception duties at the Knutsford Clinic. She liases with all the team, but particularly with her daughter Abi who happens to be the Clinic Director.
