Shingrix vaccination, hope to avoid shingles re-occurring. Avoiding shingles is worth paying for the most effective treatment. Travelled from Scotland as this was the only clinic offering the vaccination I required. Friendly, professional and flexible with timing because of my long journey.

TB screening test (the Mantoux test): £70.   The £70 fee for TB screening test does not include the fee for BCG vaccination.  Two appointments required: one to administer the test and a second one to interpret the results 2-3 days after.

Mantoux Test from £55
A Mantoux Test is necessary before BCG vaccination. The Mantoux Test shows whether your body has ever been exposed to TB germs before. You require two appointments for the Mantoux Test – first to administer the test then after 2-3 days to measure the results. The Mantoux Test will determine whether a BCG vaccine is required.
Shingles Vaccine from £149
What is Shingles? Shingles is an infection of a nerve and the area of skin supplied by the nerve. It is caused by a virus called the Varicella-zoster virus (this is the same virus that causes chickenpox). Shingles is sometimes called Herpes zoster. The symptoms of Shingles starts with tingling or burning in an area of the skin and is followed by the eruption of a painful rash usually on one side of the body or face that takes 2-4 weeks to resolve.  Shingles can occur at any age, but it is most common in people over the age of 50 years. About 1 in 4 people develop Shingles during their lifetime. It is also possible to get Shingles more than once, although fortunately fewer than 10% of people who have a first attack will have another one. Can Shingles be prevented? The good news is that there is now a Shingles vaccine available to people aged 50 and over. It has been shown to be effective in reducing the risk of older people developing Shingles, and even if you do develop Shingles then the disease is likely to affect you less severely. A national immunisation programme is available for those aged 70 - 79, but is being introduced in phases.  Can I be vaccinated privately?At Armada Travel Clinic we can offer it for those aged 50 or over. I have been seeing Dr Murray for over 2 years now and she is an amazing doctor. She not only looks after my physical health but my holistic health. I have a painful condition called fibromyalgia and I always feel heard and she can’t do enough to help me. She always greets me with a big smile and is very empathetic. It is a relief to come to Dr Now after struggling to get appointments at my NHS practice and not always being treated with respect at the front desk. It is very much good value for money as I see Dr Murray every 2 weeks as a member and the receptionists are friendly and helpful.

I booked a Spirometry test for the next day at a time that suited me, and for what I consider to be a very reasonable price. I saw James for the test and he was thoroughly professional and personable. He explained what the test was for and how it would be carried out. I had the results in pdf form by email within minutes of the test being completed, and was able to email them straight to my doctors to assist them in making a diagnosis. I would definitely use YPC Health again, and would certainly recommend them based on my experience.
