"The price was worth the results and they didn’t charge me a cent more than I expected"

Treatment Received: Wart Removal
This clinic is local so I visited them to have a few warts removed. The price was worth the results and they didn’t charge me a cent more than I expected.

Everything was good and clean. In total, I only needed three appointments. They got rid of all the warts and I healed without any creams or ointments. There was no scarring afterwards.

"I couldn’t be happier with the results"
5 50Reviewed 12 Jul 2016 Verified user. Review confirmed by phone and email.
Treatment Received: Spider Veins Treatment
After visiting many beauty clinics in the Southampton area and trying different Laser and IPL treatments to remove a large stubborn Spider Naevi I had on my nose (and after being told by another clinic after a couple of treatments of Electrolysis that I would have to learn to live with it) I then used WhatClinic.com and found Melissa at Strouden Park Beauty Clinic in Bournemouth.

Melissa not only finally removed the Spider Naevi but also other sun damage areas I had on my face and chest using different IPL systems. I couldn’t be happier with the results and in the future I will definitely always use the Strouden Park Beauty Clinic and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

"treatment carried out by a qualified doctor."
2.5 50Reviewed 02 Jun 2016 Verified user. Review confirmed by phone.
Treatment Received: Mole Removal
I went to have some moles removed for cosmetic reasons, I had already been to my GP so I knew they were harmless. I had 3 moles zapped, or frozen, & need to return in a month for the same again.
I had been quoted £50 for the first visit, which would be included in the overall cost of £250 for the whole treatment. However I was asked to pay £80.

I chose this clinic as it gave an overall cost of the treatment, whereas another clinic quoted £89 per visit, with no guarantee of how many visits would be required, & I also preferred that the treatment would be carried out by a qualified doctor.
I will enquire on my next visit as to why I was charged more than previously quoted. It`s too early to say whether I would recommend this clinic.

"Super service"

Treatment Received: Chickenpox Vaccine
My 2 year old had a vaccine for chicken pox. The reason we went was purely location, so the fact that it was a great service, is a bonus! Will be back to the second one in 4 weeks.

Super service, we had an appointment before the clinic opened and the doctor was really good and gave us all the info we need. Didn't spend more then 10 mins in there.

"The treatment was painless and I am pleased with the result."
4 50Reviewed 02 Sep 2015 Verified user.
Treatment Received: Mole Removal
My appointment was for an initial consultation which would cost £50 but be deducted from any treatment that followed. The doctor was very knowledgeable and reassured me that the treatment would be straightforward. He then asked if I had time available later to attend a different clinic where the procedure would be carried out. This was great as it gave me no time to worry and saved me the hassle of having to take time off work. The treatment was painless and I am pleased with the result. Good value for £150 - 2 large blemishes ( I called them moles but they were technically not) removed.

I chose the clinic because it was run by qualified NHS staff and that reassured me. My only comment would be that the practices are both NHS surgeries and therefore do not expect 'private style' treatment. That said the staff were friendly and professional which for me is more important than being treated as a private patient. The fees reflect this too as I felt they were very reasonable.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound

An ultrasound scan, sometimes called a sonogram, is a procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to create an image of part of the inside of the body.

An ultrasound scan can be used to monitor an unborn baby, diagnose a condition, or guide a surgeon during certain procedures.

How ultrasound scans work

A small device called an ultrasound probe is used, which gives off high-frequency sound waves.

You can't hear these sound waves, but when they bounce off different parts of the body, they create "echoes" that are picked up by the probe and turned into a moving image.

This image is displayed on a monitor while the scan is carried out.

Echocardiogram

An echocardiogram, or "echo", is a scan used to look at the heart and nearby blood vessels.
It's a type of ultrasound scan, which means a small probe is used to send out high-frequency sound waves that create echoes when they bounce off different parts of the body.
These echoes are picked up by the probe and turned into a moving image that's displayed on a monitor while the scan is carried out.

An echocardiogram may be requested by a heart specialist (cardiologist) or any doctor who thinks you might have a problem with your heart, including your GP.

An echocardiogram can help detect:

damage from a heart attack – where the supply of blood to the heart was suddenly blocked

heart failure – where the heart fails to pump enough blood around the body at the right pressure

congenital heart disease – birth defects that affect the normal workings of the heart

p

roblems wit

h the heart valve

s – problems affecting the valves that control the flow of blood within the heart

cardiomyopathy – where the heart walls become thickened or enlarged

endocarditis – an infection of the heart valves

Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy, liquid nitrogen is applied for a few seconds to freeze and destroy the affected skin cells. After treatment, a sore blister will form, followed by a scab, which will fall off 7-10 days later.

A session of cryotherapy usually takes 5-15 minutes. Large areas may need to be frozen a few times before they clear up. You will probably need to wait a few weeks between each treatment.

Cryotherapy may be recommended on your face, this is because the risk of irritation is lower

Stretch Mark Reduction

Fractional laser skin resurfacing is our most anti-aging laser procedure. Not only can it rejuvenate the skin to give a smoother, more youthful and glowing appearance, it can also improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks, fine lines and wrinkles.

How does fractional skin resurfacing work?

Minute sections of the skin are targeted with laser light, which penetrates into the tissue, causing small columns of thermal damage which in turn stimulates significant collagen renewal. The surrounding non-affected areas of skin aid the body’s natural recovery process, allowing dramatic results without significant recovery time. As the new collagen filled cells replace the old tissue the skin has an even tone, becomes plumper, smoother and less lined.

Facial Thread Veins Treatment

Both Laser and IPL systems emit filtered light which is readily absorbed by blood vessels, heating them to a point where they are destroyed. Following treatment, the damaged vessels quickly clear as they are reabsorbed by the body, leaving little or no trace of the original lesion.

NOT SUITABLE for Fitzpatrick Skin Type IV & above.

Minimum age of treatment is 18. NOT SUITABLE while pregnant

£50 - £200
Mole Removal
For mole removal a consultation is first required in order to gauge suitability and to ascertain the best method in which to successfully remove the mole. The most suitable method of removal depends on the size, shape and location of the mole and will be decided in consultation with our doctor. The consultation has a cost of £50. Subsequent treatment for the removal of the mole incurs a cost of £150.

Scar Reduction
Fractional laser skin resurfacing is our most anti-aging laser procedure. Not only can it rejuvenate the skin to give a smoother, more youthful and glowing appearance, it can also improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks, fine lines and wrinkles.

Please note:

If you suffer from Melasma (pigmentation triggered by a hormonal change, ie following child birth) your skin can not be treated.

Fractional treatment can not be used to treat scars such as Piercings - these will require treatment from a Plastic Surgeon which we currently do not offer.

from £55
Spider Veins Treatment

Using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) we can provide a long term solution to facial problems such as red flushing (Rosacea), thread veins and red spots as well as unsightly leg veins, with minimal risk in just a few quick and easy treatments.

NOT SUITABLE for Fitzpatrick Skin Type IV & above

Minimum age of treatment is 18. NOT SUITABLE while pregnant

Tattoo Removal

Active Q-Switch Lasers are considered by dermatologists to be the most effective, safe and reliable way to remove unwanted multi-coloured tattoos with consistent predictable results.

Minimum age of treatment is 18. NOT SUITABLE while pregnant

HOW DOES LASER TATTOO REMOVAL WORK?

The most suitable lasers for tattoo removal treatments are Active Q-Switched Lasers which can generate a high powered beam of laser light in an extremely short pulse. This very short pulse of laser light is absorbed by the tattoo ink particles. The rapid heating of the ink causes the ink particles to shatter into smaller pieces, your natural immune defences will then absorb and disperse the broken down ink. A Gradual fading of the tattoo occurs over a series of treatments.

Acne Treatment

Acne treatments usually require a combination of treatments. It is advised to have a consultation with a GP first who can help diagnose your condition as prescription medications may be required. GP Consultations cost £50. If a prescription is also required, this may incur the additional standard prescription cost.

If the GP prescribes Laser as part of the Treatment process, you will also need a separate appointment with the Laser Therapist. Laser Consultations are free. Laser treatment costs will vary depending on the size of the treatment area required. (IPL treatments can reduce the number and severity of active lesions, lessening the inflammation and frequency of break-outs.)

Treatment for Acne Scarring does not require a GP consultation. Please request a Free Laser Consultation.

Laser Hair Removal

We offer a safe, long-term solution to unwanted, excess hair for both men and women. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and laser treatment is suitable for the face and body, it is quick and results can be seen after just a few sessions.

How does IPL hair removal work?

Light is absorbed by the melanin, the pigment in the hair follicle. The light energy heats the pigment and effectively destroys the cells in the hair follicle which are responsible for hair growth without damaging the surrounding cells.
