Diabetes: 

Many people with diabetes, whether newly diagnosed or have diabetes for some time face many challenges and obstacles with their condition. We pride ourselves at Diabetes Insight/Helena Farrell Consultancy at being able to offer a service that helps people overcome these obstacles without being judged, in fear or being blamed. We provide a reassuring, supportive environment which is open to all people with diabetes, that they can access it when they require/need. We can give people time to discuss issues they maybe having, provide solutions and give ongoing long term support if required. There are no waiting times/restrictions so you can get information & advice when you most need it. We welcome self referrals and referrals from health care professionals for Pre-Diabetes, Type 1 & Type 2 Diabetes.  

Lifestyle: We recognize at Diabetes Insight/Helena Farrell Consultancy that many people have to make lifestyle changes for a variety of reasons, either connected to their health or for other reasons. Because we have a clinical background we can provide people with expert advice and support when wanting to make a lifestyle change, whether that is losing weight, improving fitness, reducing cholesterol &/or blood pressure. Our qualified team of experienced personal fitness trainer, nutritional therapists and health coach is available to you for managing those key areas that you need to change. Has your GP/health care professional told you you need to lose weight? Does the thought of a gym terrify you? Do you need to reduce your cholesterol but don't know how? Let us take the fear out of making those lifestyle changes. We provide personal fitness training, life/health coaching for long term behavioral change, motivational speaking, weight management and health screening 

Nursing: Helena Farrell is a registered nurse working in Ireland  for over 15 years. Having worked both in both private and public health care systems, she decided to establish Ireland's first freelance nursing practice dedicated to diabetes and also is Founder & Clinical Director of the Cork Health & Lifestyle Centre. Helena is passionate about nursing in Ireland and providing opportunities for nurses to think outside the box in areas of freelance and self employment. Traditionally nurses in Ireland have either worked in either public or private healthcare, freelance has never been considered an option for nurses until now. Helena has proven that this is possible after 5 years of freelancing with a successful, established, well recognized business. She provides mentorship, advice and support for nurses who have an idea and feel freelance maybe an option for them.
