My name is Mary Dolan Watters and I gained my licentiate in Acupuncture from The College of Medical Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (CMATCM) in Ireland. I am a member of the Acupuncture Council of Ireland, members of the ACI are approved by Aviva, VHI, Laya Healthcare and HSA for Out-Patient insurance purposes. After graduating, I worked in China at the Shuguang Hospital in Shanghai, which is affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. There I spent my clinical internship training under Professor Lee, one of the most prominent, well researched and revered Chinese acupuncturists of our time.In 2008, I opened Ballinasloe Acupuncture and Natural Health Clinic where I continue to gain extensive experience treating a wide range of issues. Constantly expanding my knowledge and expertise I have undertaken further training and qualifications in fertility (which I have a particular interest in), pain relief, stress relief, cosmetic acupuncture and paediatric acupuncture.In addition, I have a diploma in Natural Nutrition studying under Barbra Wren in London, using food as our medicine and giving our bodies and minds what they need to heal, repair and be the best that they can be a great gift.Other studies and interests are : • Face rejuvenation with Lillian Bridges• Paediatric acupuncture with Stephen Birch • Holographic systems with Henry McCann.• IVF &fertility with Dr Celine Leonard“I love what I do; Acupuncture can do so much to enrich our liv

I use kinesiology for anxiety in children and adults. Having had a long history of anxiety and related issues I have an excellent understanding of what it is like and what helps. Kinesiology treatments which I recieved in Australia ended my own anxiety. I became fascinated by how it worked and it has become my career. Kinesiology was developed by chiropractors in the US in the 1970s. They developed a means of relieving 'stress' in the body by using acupressue techniques in a new way. In my experience all anxiety is related to the fight / flight state. Coming out of that state is achieved when the person returns to feeling safe. Shock,  trauma and sustained stress can 'switch' the body into fight / flight. I regularly find that young children with anxiety or related emotional issues, have as their source of distress a previous trauma that is unconcious to them. For example, a traumatic birth. KInesiology techniques seek to relieve that original stress and break the habit built into the brain.  It is a fascinating process that takes in our understanding of Chinese medicine as well as our new findings about the brain.
