Biography:
RGN, BSc (Hons) is a Specialist Practitioner in General Practice Nursing and also Managing Director here at Peyia Medical Centre. She is British and qualified as a nurse in 2001 and started her career in a busy general hospital. In 2006, she then specialised in GP nursing and gained her BSc (Hons) and a Specialist Practitioner Award becoming a Nurse Practitioner in 2009. She further developed her career by gaining an Independent Prescribing qualification enabling her to examine, diagnose and then issue prescriptions for a wide range of illnesses. Over the past three years, Nicky has been a key member of the clinical team at a busy Doctors surgery in North Wales and was personally handling around 200 appointments per week. She is experienced in, and fully up to date with all aspects of primary care nursing including managing care for patients with chronic illness like Coronary Heart Disease, Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Chronic Kidney Disease as well as other Practice Nurse duties such as smear tests, ear syringing, dressings and childhood immunisations.
