Claudia completed her medical training at Imperial College at St Mary’s Hospital in London.  She was awarded several prizes during her medial training and achieved an intercalated BSc achieving a First Class award.  She completed her MB BS with Honours from the University of London in 1999.  She completed her junior training in the London area and moved to Brighton for her dermatology training in 2004.  During her training she attended weekly autoimmune clinics St John’s Institute of Dermatology with Professor Martin Black and Dr Richard Groves. She completed research investigating the link between psoriasis and bullous pemphigoid. She was appointed as a consultant at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust in 2008.  As a consultant she has developed a research infrastructure within dermatology at Brighton and also developed a research network across Surrey and Sussex.  She is the dermatology lead for the Clinical Research Network for Kent Surrey and Sussex.   Her main areas of clinical interest are skin lesions including skin cancer, skin surgery and autoimmune skin conditions.  She attended the internationally renowned, Hugh Greenways Superficial Anatomy and Cutaneous Surgery course at the SCRIPPS research Institute, University of California San Diego to develop her surgical skills further and now regularly performs skin cancer surgery including flap and graft repairs

During the first visit the patient will have a full consultation with Dr Farrell to cover their skin concern. If appropriate, Dr Farrell may also examine other sites of the skin, as sometimes other sites of the body can be similarly affected. (e.g. in the case of sun damage). Dr Farrell with discuss with you the diagnoses, relevant investigations and treatment plan. Some investigations can be done on the day but others may need approval from your insurance company . Dr Farrell will also suggest a treatment plan and provide relevant information leaflets. The clinic also has available on site many of the products that may be required as part of the treatment plan and we can dispense these on the day. We also provide a postal service so that repeat requests for product can be supplied. Dr Farrell will usually also follow up the consultation with a typed report which will be posted to you within a few days summarising the discussion. Dr Farrell usually writes to your General Practitioner with her recommendations and a copy is sent to you. If you are attending for purely a cosmetic reason and do not wish Dr Farrell to write to your GP then she will respect your wishes, but if you wish she will send a recommendation of treatments to you. If you are funding the consultation and treatment through insurance it is important that you obtain an authorisation number for the consultation before the visit. Having 'crashed' into the menopause like a mad person, I'd tried changing my diet, herbal remedies, exercising more but nothing stopped the horrendous hot flashes every hour, day and night. After 3 months of no proper sleep, I was desperate and thought I'd give acupuncture a try. Sceptical at first, I was really impressed with the time Judy took to discuss all my 'symptoms' and we decided to start with the night flashes as I was so sleep deprived. It was amazing! After my very first session, I didn't feel any different but the hot flashes seemed less severe and I slept for 5 hours which was heaven. I've since had two more and I hardly notice the flashes and have been sleeping for 8 hours solid every night. I feel more like my old self again. I can't thank Judy enough and I would definitely recommend her to anyone suffering from the menopause but doesn't want HRT. Worth every penny! I searched online for an acupuncturist near me and found Judy. She looked about my age and so I thought she would understand how dreadful the menopause can be for some people. She was very understanding, gave me plenty of time to talk and discussed the treatment. I found her very reassuring and genuinely interested in me. Her practice is very well presented and is quiet and peaceful and only a few minutes away. A very rewarding experience. Highly recommended.
