"The staff are friendly and genuinely concerned about their patients' wellbeing"

Treatment Received: Fillings,Dental Implants,Root Canals,Dental Bridges
Jessica at Cavehill has looked after my teeth since 2014. I have had fillings, crowns, bridges, root canal work and implants. She is highly competent, conscientious, skilful and empathic. I trust her completely to deliver the best treatment possible, to avoid unnecessary interventions and above all to cause minimum pain - she is particularly good at anaesthesia.

I have recommended her to my friends. She will discuss the options available in detail and gives excellent value for money.

I originally chose Cavehill in 1999 because I live nearby and friends recommended it. It was good even before Marty McAllister took over. Since then it has developed special expertise in implants and preventative hygiene.

The staff are friendly and genuinely concerned about their patients' wellbeing. When I have had a dental emergency, they have seen me within 24 hours.

"I may not have won X factor , but i left with the Wow factor"
5 50Reviewed 06 Nov 2017 Review verified by email.
Treatment Received: Dental Implants,Dental Bridges
Having first visited Cavehill Dental Care 20 years ago this year , where i had some serious dental implant work done by Dr. Martin MacAllister [ a bridge plate and 6 abutments inserted into my top gum line bone ].6 months later my porcelains were attached and i was very happy to have permanent teeth again.
Fast forward 20 years and here i am today in Cavehill Dental Care having a complete refurbishment of the porcelain work which has 20 years of wear and tear. My initial appointment was in August this year where Dr. MacAllister assured me that my abutments and bridge were in great condition and therefore attaching new porcelains and bridge work was going to be very successfull , and Indeed It Was .

Impressions taken, porcelains made, preliminary fitting, and 1 more visit for final attachment 2 weeks later . My next process was a visit with the Resident Hygienist Treacy who gave my organic teeth a brilliant clean , and some great advice on future maintenance [ thank you ] . The Staff at Cavehill Dental create an atmosphere of casualness leaving the patient with a pro confident assurance of All Things Great . Many thanks to Marty , Treacy, Dental Assistants, Frances and All the Front Line Staff at Cavehill Dental.
P.S. I may not have won X factor , but i left with the Wow factor . Thank You , Everyone, Frank in Dublin.

"He explained everything to me and made me feel very calm"
5 50Reviewed 24 Aug 2017 Review verified by phone and email.
Treatment Received: Dental Implants
I had two front teeth missing. I fell and knocked them out and for years I thought of getting implants but thought they were too expensive. Food was sticking up under my false teeth and my gums were raw so I decided to give it a go. To work extra weekends as I was a nurse and save to get my teeth fixed. It was the best I had ever done. I have now had my implants approx 20 years and have had no problems, thanks to Marty who explained everything to me and made me feel very calm about my new teeth. I want to tell everyone who is thinking about this procedure to talk to Marty McAllister who explains everything to you in detail thanks, Marty.

Very relaxing, Marty explained everything so well.

"It was a very good experience"

Treatment Received: Dentist Consultation
Quite a lot of work done i.e. two implants, a couple of roots out and some fillings. Over all, a very good experience and I am not a great dental patient.

I am terrified of the dentist due to past negative experiences. I have been going to Dr Jessica for over a year now. I required quite a lot of work, as I had not been to any dentist for over 10 years. The prices were all discussed pre treatment. So, I knew what I was to pay. There were options, which were all explained to me. From the moment I have walked through the door, to leaving the surgery I have had the highest level of care. The reception staff appear to fully understand the patients. The dental nurses have been brilliant and Dr Jessica is an excellent dentist. She is highly skilled plus she actually cares about her patients and their individual needs.

She is dedicated to her role as dentist. I could recommend this surgery to anyone. Plus if you have dental fears, this is an excellent place to get treatment. You will be listened to and understood and given the best options. There is no pressure re treatment. Each patient can make their own choice based on their needs. My advice is give them a ring. You will be surprised at the level of care and professionalism which exists in this surgery. LH

"I am very happy with the results"

Treatment Received: Dentist Consultation
My mum signed me in here to get my teeth corrected as I wanted them all straight and nice. I was very happy with Dr Kate Wylie who was very sweet, gentle and worked so nicely on putting my braces. She gave clear instructions and followed up everything thoroughly. I am very happy with the results.

I read the online reviews and decided to take my daughter Annette there . She signed in for a six month smile with Dr Kate Wylie and at the end of it was overjoyed with the results. The dental practice is superb. Nothing to fault them for. We have once got the wrong date and they still managed to accomodate her. The staff , the atmosphere and everything about this practice is top notch. Very impressed and would recommend it to anybody.

Bone Graft
This is a common dental procedure. In periodontology, it is used to support natural teeth and in dental implant procedures, it is used where there is insufficient bone to fix the implants. The bone graft replaces missing bone lost from previous dental extractions, injuries, accidents, cysts, periodontal disease and infections.

Dental Bridges
BRIDGES are very useful in replacing missing teeth by using the standing teeth on either side of the gap to support the ‘false tooth’, known as a pontic. The porcelain pontic is fused between two porcelain crowns to fill in one area left by a missing tooth. These bridges are permanently cemented in your mouth, where they can help to improve the overall appearance of your smile.
£350 - £500
Dental Crowns
CROWNS may be used to repair broken or decayed teeth, to strengthen teeth or again to improve the cosmetic appearance of a tooth. They differ from veneers in that they encase the whole part of the tooth that is above the gum. The porcelain finish of the veneer or crown can be matched to your own natural tooth shading, or if you choose to restore all of your teeth then you can decide to have a lighter, brighter shade all over.

Dental Implants
A dental implant is essentially a substitute for a natural root and commonly it is a screw, which is cylinder shaped. Each implant is placed into a socket carefully drilled at the precise location of the intended tooth. The main aim during installation of any implant is to achieve immediate close contact with the surrounding bone. This creates an initial stability, which over time is steadily enhanced by further growth of bone into microscopic roughness on the implant surface.

Extractions

Surgical Extractions
Wisdom tooth may be extracted because it is causing you problems or perhaps to prevent problems that may arise in the future. Problems with wisdom teeth can arise because your jaw may not be large enough to accommodate them, and they may become impacted and unable to break through the gum properly. Any unerupted tooth that has formed but failed to emerge into the mouth can damage surrounding teeth, gums and supporting bone. Because of this risk, unerupted teeth are often surgically extracted. As already mentioned, this is often the case with wisdom teeth. However, it is common to find unerupted canine teeth sitting in the palate (roof of mouth). We can pull these teeth slowly into position with the use of orthodontic appliances after surgically exposing them.

Fillings
WHITE FILLINGS are now becoming a popular alternative to amalgam fillings. The new dental materials mean it is much easier to find a perfect match for the shade of a particular tooth. In most cases, it is almost impossible to see that the tooth even has a filling.

Removable appliance - a plastic plate that can be taken out to be cleaned. It has delicate wires and springs attached, which move the teeth using gentle pressure. Fixed appliance - Often teeth need to be guided more accurately than they can be using a removable plate. Fixed appliances are brackets and bands temporarily stuck to the teeth. A flexible wire joins all the brackets and allows the teeth to be moved. Invisible Braces - We also offer state of the art ‘invisible braces. ’ These are tough, clear, plastic ‘positioners’ that are used to gradually straighten your teeth. Several sets of specially moulded positioners are made. Each set moves the teeth slightly from the previous position and is worn for about two weeks before being replaced with the next set. Each set is straighter than the last and the final set will be your desired result.
