Dental Bridges
Guaranteed for 2 years.

When teeth are missing and there are teeth on either side of the space a bridge is the ideal way to replace the missing teeth. Replacement teeth can be attached to two crowns constructed for the two teeth on either side of the open space, this is called a bridge because it bridges the open space.

The space left from missing teeth may cause one of several problems. Teeth may drift into the space changing your bite. This changed bite may result in sore jaws, gum disease, or decay (due to more difficult hygiene). Bridges are not removable by the patient. As with other types of crowns (caps), a bridge can be made of metal, gold or porcelain, or a combination of these two. In areas of your mouth that are under less stress, such as your front teeth, a cantilever bridge may be used. Cantilever bridges are used when there are teeth on only one side of the open space.

All of your teeth play an important role in speaking, chewing and maintaining proper alignment of other teeth, not to mention your appearance, so it is vital to replace any that are lost.

Dental Crowns
Guaranteed for 2 years.

Grinding your teeth, an improper bite, age, root canals, lost fillings and tooth decay can all be contributing factors in the wearing down, cracking or breakage of your teeth. Dental crowns cover the entire visible surface of your affected tooth and add strength, durability and tooth stability.
Crowns are made of natural looking porcelain and are made to improve your overall smile or to blend in with your own teeth. Your cosmetic dentist will usually be able to spot problem areas in your mouth that might lead to tooth damage and a need for crowns. Chewing patterns play a big role as well. By selectively grinding the tips of your middle and back teeth (called cusps) will alter your bite to reduce the stress on at-risk teeth. Crowns are dental restorations otherwise known as "caps" which are coverings that fit over teeth. Crowns are also used to improve the appearance of natural teeth that are malformed, malpositioned or discolored.

Gold Crown

1. Gold crowns
Gold crowns are appropriate when appearance is not a priority to you. The gold metal is very workable, gold crowns are able to have a more precise fit than any other type of dental crown. Gold crowns also eliminate the slight possibility of chipping that exists with anything that contains porcelain. For simple longevity, nothing beats gold.

Porcelain Crown
Guaranteed for 2 years.

The new reinforced resin or bonded all-porcelain type of crown has the nicest appearance. This crown can be made from pure ceramic or a new reinforced composite resin, and is almost indistinguishable from natural teeth. The new bonding technology involved provides an exceptional bond your tooth. It is metal-free, and thus satisfies the needs of patients with metal sensitivities.

The Empress crown is also a variation of an all-porcelain crown which uses the Empress pressed ceramic material. Other ceramic crown materials are Procera, In-Ceram, and feldspathic porcelain. A cosmetic dentist will be familiar with all of these materials and will use the best crown for each clinical situation. They all have their advantages and disadvantages.

Advantage: Porcelain crowns or new reinforced resin are considered to be the most aesthetically pleasing, as it is so easily matched in color to the surrounding teeth and no metal shows.
Disadvantage: The thickness of the porcelain required for pleasing aesthetics also requires that more tooth structure needs to be removed. Gingival inflammation appears to be more common with porcelain crowns than gold crowns.

The body accepts titanium, like no other metal and because of this; your Dental Implant is a truly long term, predictable way to replace missing teeth. Dental Implants are an ideal option and the most advanced therapy for people in good general oral health who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury, or some other reason.

Dentures
When a patient no longer has any natural teeth, complete dentures are the traditional method to restore function and appearance. Many patients experience difficulty wearing conventional dentures because of poor stability and decreased chewing function. The use of dental implants to improve the stability and retention of dentures is becoming quite popular. With or without teeth, your mouth slowly changes as you age. But people who have no teeth on average lose 1/3 mm of jawbone height each year. Sometimes that loss is greater due to certain medical conditions such as osteoporosis. As our jawbone shrinks, so do our gum tissues (sometimes referred to as ridges). Ridges can shrink up to a quarter-inch in 10 years. When teeth are lost and gum tissues shrink, some facial support is lost. This explains why people with no teeth often have deep wrinkles around the mouth and a sunken look to their cheeks. A new denture may: help you look better by providing the support your lips need, and by giving your face and smile a more natural appearance, help you speak clearly once again, enhance your chewing ability, helping your body properly digest food and obtain the nutrition it needs, help you feel better about yourself.

Fillings

A large number of people had amalgam fillings (silver) or gold filling restorations in the past. Some amalgam fillings contained mercury. Metal fillings were effective, but very conspicuous and tended to blacken in color over time. Tooth-colored fillings or composite resin dental fillings were created as an alternative to traditional metal dental fillings.

Inlay or Onlay

Inlays and Onlays are used to restore back teeth that require large fillings. If the broken or decayed part of a tooth is too large then a white filling is not always possible. An onlay covers either one or all the cusps (points) of a tooth while an inlay would be more like a filling. They are stronger than white fillings but still allow excellent aesthetics. They are bonded on to the remaining tooth structure. Each inlay and onlay is hand made in a laboratory to either match and fit your existing teeth. There are several types of inlay available, each type being suitable for different situations. Inlays and onlays are able to be made from a variety of materials including porcelain, gold, and tooth-coloured composite resin.

Periodontitis Treatment
Periodontitis  develops if gum disease progresses. The gums pull away from the teeth, leaving deep pockets where bacteria can grow and damage the bone that supports the teeth. Gums can also shrink back, or recede. This can make the teeth look longer. Teeth may become loose, fall out, or have to be removed.

Veneers

The Dental Porcelain Veneer Procedure
The first visit to the cosmetic dentists office will consist of an exam to make sure that dental veneers are the right choice. During this visit, the cosmetic dentist will discuss the advantages and limitations of porcelain veneers. The second office visit is used to prepare the teeth for the dental veneers. This is accomplished by removing ? millimeter of tooth enamel .

If the procedure is uncomfortable, local anesthetic can be used. After the teeth have been prepared, the cosmetic dentist will take an impression of the teeth, which will be used to make the dental veneers. It will take approximately one to two weeks for porcelain veneers to be manufactured. The final office visit is scheduled in order to apply the dental veneers to the teeth. The teeth will be cleaned and the porcelain veneers will be bonded to the teeth with bonding cement . The cement is then hardened with a blue light (a process known as curing).

These types of veneers are very natural looking. With a variety of white colored shades available, a porcelain veneer will make your teeth brilliant and clean.

In general, applying porcelain veneers is a longer procedure, since they require more than one trip to the dentist. The preparation and application procedures are often preformed separately.

£280 - £350
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic material, which are bonded to the front of teeth. This procedure requires little or no anesthesia, when bonded to your tooth is extremely strong, and can be the ideal choice for improving the appearance of the front teeth. Porcelain veneers are placed to mask discolorations, to brighten teeth, and to improve a smile. Highly resistant to permanent staining from coffee, tea, or even cigarette smoking, the wafer-thin porcelain veneers can achieve a tenacious bond to the tooth, resulting in an esthetically pleasing naturalness that is unsurpassed by other restorative options.
