Zirconia Crown

Zirconium is a biocompatible material that the body treats as its own. It causes no allergies and best prevents the adhesion of plaque, thus keeping the gums healthy and natural. Zirconium is the best material to match your neighbouring teeth. Although it is not a metal, it is the only material that refracts rather than reflects the light. Therefore you can select a better-matching colour, avoid subtle colour differences, and obtain greater naturalness and better aesthetic effect. Zirconium crowns and bridges are “cut” from a bigger block by a computer-steered device. Thus they are precise and match ideally. This in turn is most effective in stopping bacteria from accessing the tooth. Zirconium crowns and bridges are durable and extremely strong. They enhance self-repair of the crystal structure. Zirconium devices are intended for the most demanding patients. For those who expect subtleties. Those who cherish the health of their teeth most.

Dental Implants

Implants are small high technology artificial tooth roots made of titanium, which – once placed in the bone – become its integral parts. Implants ensure a table base for single tooth crowns, and where several implants are used – a base for bigger bridges or tooth prostheses.

Dental Sealant

Tooth sealing consists in filling the pits and fissures in clean and caries-free teeth with a special sealant that contains fluorides. Sealing is recommended for pits in primary molar teeth, permanent molar teeth and premolar teeth as well as for fissures in upper lateral permanent incisors. Sealing is most often applied to the sixth teeth (the first permanent molars) that run a risk of caries. They erupt around the age of 6 behind the last primary teeth. Tooth sealing ensures effective protection against caries. Sealing should be done within 3 months of tooth eruption (the sealed tooth has to be erupted to such an extent that it can be separated from the moist environment of the oral cavity). Sealed teeth should be checked every 6 months.

Dentures

Immediate Dentures

Immediate dentures are temporary removable acrylic prostheses prepared just before tooth/teeth extraction and ready while the patient is still under an anaesthetic. In this way patients can leave our surgeries without gaps resulting from extracted teeth and with optimum aesthetic effects for the time of healing. Once the healing process is complete the immediate denture must be replaced with a final, long-term customised dental prosthetic device.

Root canals

Most often toothache is a symptom of pulp infection with bacteria. Pulp infection gradually leads to its death and bacteria quickly penetrate into all recesses of the space it takes. Unless adequate treatment is initiated at this stage, the products of bacteria and nerve decomposition in the pulp migrate through the root to the bone and cause inflammation there. In short, the treatment can be divided into two stages. It starts with a thorough removal of all pulp that is infected with bacteria from the space it takes. Then the space which has been cleaned and widened (the canals in all roots) is tightly sealed with a special filling material. The results are monitored by an x-ray film.

Teeth Cleaning

Scaling consists in removing dental plaque and supra- and subgingival tartar that may cause various disease such as gingivitis and gingivorrhoea, parodontosis, caries, looseness or even loss of teeth. It is done using ultrasonic scalers. This prophylactic procedure, harmless for enamel and gums, is repeated every 6-24 months depending on the level of oral hygiene and on the composition of saliva (the more mineral compounds in saliva, the greater tartar deposits). It is often combined with sand-blasting and completed with polishing all tooth surfaces with a special polish and rinsing the mouth with an antibacterial liquid. Tartar is a gummy dental deposit that grows from the moment of teething. It sticks not only to tooth surfaces but also to the surfaces of fillings and various orthodontic and prosthetic devices (crowns, bridges, and removable prostheses).

Teeth Whitening

The procedure is carried out under close doctor’s supervision in the dentist’s surgery. Once the gums are protected with a special protective gel, the teeth are covered with a whitening agent which is then activated with the Beyond lamp’s UV light. Standard procedure includes 3-4 sessions, 5-15 minutes each. The therapy helps whiten the teeth by 5-14 shades in the Vita range. The results are by 30% better and much faster than for home whitening because the whole procedure takes usually 30-50 minutes.

Home Whitening Kits

During the first appointment the doctor takes the patient’s tooth impressions on standard bite plates and then a dental technician makes gypsum moulds to provide two individual splints: one for upper and one for lower teeth. During the second appointment the patient receives the splints together with syringes with whitening gel, and is instructed how to use them at home. As the preparation is thinner than for professional whitening, usually the splints are be used 2-3 hours a day for 2-4 weeks

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneer is a prosthetic device fixed on a special composite cement used to cover external anaesthetic surfaces of upper and lower teeth. It is made wholly of porcelain without metal frames – so it can give excellent aesthetic effects and change each smile. It requires much less polishing than prosthetic crowns and thus helps save the dental tissue. Veneer can be applied in cases of dentine aplasia, anaesthetic filling of front teeth, diastema or anaesthetic shape of tooth.
