Lumino Orthodontists

Dr Mark Beresford attended Waiwea College and Otago University. He has been a practicing dentist since 1976 and has been a practicing orthodontist since 1980. In addition, he is a member of several organisations, including the New Zealand Association of Orthodontists, the New Zealand Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists. Dr Beresford has now completed his term as President of the New Zealand Association of Orthodontists. He and his wife, a lawyer, have two children.

Dr Robert Max also attended Otago University, in addition to the Royal Dental Hospital in London. After completing his internship in paediatric dentistry and orthodontics, he started his formal courses in orthodontics. Today, as well as providing orthodontic treatment, he gives lectures to both dental and orthodontic audiences and the general public. Dr Max has been in practice for more than 30 years and is a member of numerous organisations, such as the New Zealand Association of Orthodontists, the New Zealand Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists and the Australian Society of Orthodontists. Dr Max is the past President of the New Zealand Association of Orthodontists and Founding member of the Executive of the World Federation of Orthodontists. Dr Max is married with four children and five endlessly fascinating grandchildren. He enjoys boating, reading and spending time with his family.

Dr Ross Anning grew up in Auckland and attended the University of Otago where he completed his undergraduate dental degree. After a year as a dental house surgeon at Wellington Hospital he moved to London where he worked in a private dental practice for three years. Ross then returned to Dunedin to complete his specialist training, graduating with a Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in orthodontics and a Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Ross spent the subsequent seven years in specialist practice in the UK, where he gained extensive experience in the latest orthodontic techniques, including Invisalign and Incognito. Ross is a member of the New Zealand Association of Orthodontists and the British Orthodontic Society. He is very much enjoying being back home in New Zealand with his wife.
