What are Veneers?

Veneers are thin shells, also called dental laminates, that are used to cover unsightly teeth and give patients attractive smiles. They are easy to place and can quickly improve the smile of patients with dental cracks and stains, and for patients who have gaps between their teeth.

What is the difference between Veneers and Dental Crowns?

Veneers cover only the front portion of teeth. Crowns cover or replace the entire tooth. Crowns are therefore thicker than veneers. A major portion of the tooth needs to be reduced before placing a crown while only a small portion of the tooth needs to be reduced before placing a veneer. A crown is used for covering damaged teeth and is also placed over a dental implant. A veneer is only used for cosmetic purposes.

What are the best types of Veneers?

The best type of veneer depends on the needs of each individual patient. Some veneers can be easily placed without much tooth preparation. Some veneers are suitable for severely damaged teeth. Some veneers can be easily made in the clinic and patients do not have to wait long for their placement. Some veneers are cheaper than others and are suitable for patients looking for a low cost option.  Your dentist should discuss the options with you so you can make the best choice.

How long before you can eat after getting Veneers?

Dentists recommend that patients eat only soft foods after veneers are placed, and for the first few days, until they get used to them. Veneers are normally bonded firmly to teeth and patients can eat any type of food.

What are Veneers made from?

Veneers are made from ceramic, composite resins or zirconium.

I had no worries and I recommend them 100%Daniell, US, 22 11 21

I went to this densist here in the states to get some work down a couple of years back. I got all the metal filling taken out and the holistic ones put in. I was happy with all they did for me! I recently cracked my tooth eating and went back to the same densist. They advised I need a crown on it...so I paid 1600 for crown and xrays and they told me to come in a week in half. when I came got to the densist office they said we want to pull the tooth instead and also put an implant on a side tooth. I asked how Much was an implant they said between $6-8 thousand for the one tooth with separate charge for extraction. I was kinda shocked because I had already done a lot of Xray and they said nothing about this.. So I began looking outside the US..I was quite hesitant at first, but I did my research and followed my intuition. I settled on smile Makeover in playa del Carmen. They picked me up from airport and took me back and forth to each appt! When I got there to the office They took xrays of my mouth. I didn't feel as though it was a step down in service, quality, or knowledge. It was a lot of Americans and Canadian in the office! Everyone was speaking different languages. All the staff was masked up and the office was spotless! After I got xrays I sat in densist chair for the consultation. They pulled up these like 3d scans of teeth. they said we definitely don't think you need an implant or the back tooth pulled. They wanted to do everything to save the integrity of my teeth... So I ended up getting a root canal and crown on back tooth. On the side tooth they cleaned it, applied some medicine and told me to see how it feels in 24 hours...if I had super sensitivity in that tooth they would do a root canal on that tooth. That side tooth felt fine the next day So they put a filing. And while they was in my mouth they filled one other tooth. I ended up spending $1100 total plus like 10 dollars for pain meds and stuff.. I always felt in control of my care. Every single thing they did the discussed with me so I had no surprises. This was part 1! After my appts, I spent the rest of the time on the beach relaxing and getting massages 🥳. Part 2 I'm going back for the full Hollywood smile in a couple of months😊 I felt super safe as a woman too! The best touch was the driving back and forth to appt! I had no worries and I recommend them 100%
