Treatment Received: Root Canals,Fillings,Dentist Consultation
For a root canal treatment in the Netherlands, you will easily pay the amount of 560 euro, even for fillings 80 euro. In Savina Clinic they did it for 340 euro. Now two months after, I can say that it was a very good trip and for the next treatment I will go otherwise to Malta, enjoying the sun and visiting again the clinic of Savina.

Root Canal and Crown

I had an emergency broken tooth and found Savina on WhatClinic. I was somewhat nervous as I hadn't heard of Gozo and was only going to be in Malta for 2 weeks, in case something went wrong. As it turned out, I had no reason to be worried. Everything was perfect - the online appointment process, the reception at the clinic and, especially, Dr. Joseph Xuereb. He is world-class talented. I had a full root canal and crown done in 2 visits and now, back in Canada, the tooth is 100%. The price was as quoted and a fraction of what is would have cost in Canada. 5 Stars all around! I'll go back to Malta and have a sunny vacation next time I need work done.

Root End Surgery
Sometimes a non-surgical approach for root canal therapy is not possible. Skillful diagnosis in endodontic surgery requires accurate determination of the reasons for endodontic failure. Most common causes for failure are: unusual, complex and undetectable root canal anatomy, accessory canals that cannot be treated conventionally, or a fractured root. Other factors which may require a surgical approach, include the presence of a post which cannot be removed, calcification of the canals, or obstruction due to a separated instrument. Most of these cases can be successfully treated with endodontic surgery. The goal of all endodontic surgery is to remove disease, prevent it from recurring, and to create an environment in which healing may occur. The surgical procedure itself is done in the dental office, under local anesthetic. It can take approximately two or three hours, and most patients return to work after the procedure. Some of the most common endodontic surgeries are: Apicoectomy or Root-End Resection, Hemisection, Root Amputation.

Veneers
In just two or three dental visits, a veneer can reverse years of stains caused by foods, caffeine and tobacco use. Special thin laminates, called veneers, can also be used to correct discolored, worn down, cracked and chipped teeth. Veneers can also be used to close unsightly gaps between teeth. Stronger types of veneers made of porcelain, as opposed to composite veneers, typically last longer. An impression of the tooth must be made and a veneer molded by a lab technician. Because veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, they are permanent and non-reversible. The process involves buffing the tooth, removing an extremely thin layer of the tooth to allow for the thickness of the veneer, an impression of the tooth, and final bonding of the veneer to the tooth with special cement. A special light is used to complete the process.

Medical Aesthetics

Dermal Fillers
As our bodies age, our skin also ages and begins to show changes that may be undesirable. The fat and collagen underlying our skin begins to diminish due to the natural aging process. Therefore, our skin starts to sag and develop wrinkles. One way to correct these effects is a surgical procedure called a facelift, which is costly and is an invasive procedure that has risks. Dermal fillers are a minimally invasive procedure with little or no recovery time, which costs less than surgery and has minimal risks. Dermal fillers have become a very trendy way to address the aging process. Dermal fillers can be injected into areas with fine lines and wrinkles. Most of the problem areas include the area around the eyes, brow, bridge of the nose, mouth, jaw line and cheeks. Other areas that can be enhanced by dermal fillers include the lips, which can look fuller and younger after an injection. Scarring from injury to the face or acne can also be corrected with dermal fillers. There are many different types of dermal fillers which include collagen, hyaluronic acid, together with longer-lasting materials.
