Brilliant practice and would highly recommend

5 50 Dentist Consultation

This is a superb dental clinic. My daughter had a very dark tooth from prev damage in front of her mouth and attended this clinic. To say a good job was done would be an understatement - it was superb - gave her back her confidence to smile now. Brilliant practice and would highly recommend.

Auckland to Dublin!

5 50 Dentures • Paid: €80

Denture reline

I've been going to Paddy Crotty for many years now and have always held him in the highest esteem. When I returned to Ireland for a visit, the first thing I did was make an appointment. Auckland to Dublin to see the dentist must be some sort of a record, but well worth it.

4.2 50 Dental X-Ray, Teeth Cleaning • Paid: €300

Most recent treatment went like all the previous treatments (over last 30 years) - very well. Patrick Crotty is an excellent dentist; he is personable, interested and takes the time to explain what he is doing. He is committed to his profession and always looking at new ways to do things. Takes real pride in his work. Easily accessed via public transport or, if driving, plenty metered car parking nearby.

Biography:

Dr. Patrick Crotty, BDentSc, FDSRCS(Edin.), FFDRCSI, FICD

Dr Paddy Crotty is a family dentist who has developed an expertise in general restorative dentistry with a particular skill in conservative and healthy ways of creating, transforming and reviving smiles without the need for cutting back the teeth. Over the years he has developed a loyal following of patients who appreciate his empathetic approach, commitment to quality and passion for teaching and learning new techniques.

Having graduated from Trinity College Dublin, Dr Crotty obtained a fellowship in restorative dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. He was later honoured with fellowships of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the International College of Dentists.

Dr Crotty has been a part time lecturer in Trinity College for many years and has lectured extensively on cosmetic dentistry and dental bonding in Ireland and the UK. Dr Crotty has attended many courses in Europe and the US where he has learned from world experts and opinion leaders in his areas of interest. The knowledge he has gained has helped develop his reputation as a well-informed practitioner and lecturer.

After post-graduate training, Dr Crotty established his practice beside the Mater Hospital on Upper Dorset Street in Dublin, continuing a dental tradition started in the 1940s by his father-in-law, the late Dr J.B. Moloney. He was joined by Dr Nuala Carney in 1998.

In 2010, Dr Crotty formed the Dorset Dental Practice in a neighbouring building with specialist dentist (prosthodontist) Dr Colm Sugrue. In this modern clinic, Dr Crotty continues his commitment to his patients to deliver an ethical, health-centred, patient-focused service which provides long-term value for money.

Dr Nuala Carney

Job Title:
  Dentist
Specialisations:
  Dental Examinations, Endodontics, General Dentistry
Biography:

Dr. Nuala Carney, BDentSc, FDSRCSI

Dr Nuala Carney studied dentistry at Trinity College Dublin. She was a warded the Costello Medal for best student presentation at the IDA Conference in 1987. She graduated with honours in 1988. She worked for 2 years in general practice in New Zealand, returning to work for 4 years full time in the Dublin Dental Hospital as house officer, SHO and registrar. She gained her postgraduate Fellowship in Dental Surgery (FFD) from RCSI in 1994.

Dr Carney then spent 2 years working in India on a dental therapist training programme with a UK charity. This had a profound impact on her approach to dentistry and confirmed her belief in the absolute necessity for prevention as a basis for all care.

She returned to Dublin to work part time in practice, and part time as a clinical instructor at the DDH. She joined Dr Patrick Crotty in practice in 1998.

Following her marriage in 2003, Nuala moved to Grenoble, France with her husband. Although life in the mountains was very appealing, she was happy to return to Dublin for professional reasons in 2007.

She is a member of the IDA, and the Irish Endodontic Society, and has a particular interest in both aesthetic dentistry and endodontics. She was appointed as a local dental advisor for Dental Protection in 2010.

Outside work, Nuala has a particular love for classical music, but is probably happiest up in the mountains, hiking, biking - or best of all - on skis!
