Dr. Athena Spanou is a dual- qualified (medical and dental) Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. She studied Dentistry and Medicine in the University of Athens and completed her specialization in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2005. Since then, she has worked as a Specialist in major hospitals in Greece and at King's College Hospital in London.
In 2009 Dr. Spanou completed the courser on Microvascular Surgery in the University of Athens.
In 2012, she founded Athens Oral and Facial Surgery, a high-end Private Practice highly specialized in Oral and Facial Surgery and Dental Implantology. Dr. Spanou also works with major private hospitals in Athens, in order to treat serious conditions of the mouth and jaws, such as fractures, large cysts and orthognathic surgery, as well as perform more invasive Aesthetic procedures

Dr. Spanou is a member of the Athens Medical Association, the Hellenic Association for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the General Medical Council in the UK, the Medical Council of Cyprus and the Dental Council of Cyprus. She lectures nationally and internationally on Oral Surgery, Implantology and Aesthetic Facial Procedures. She is fluent in Greek, English, French and German.
