Urzola Dentistry

I am from Canada and whole-mouth dental implants are crazy expensive. Doing my due diligence (pricing, plan and time of completion), (with my dentists and through the dental school)), I found Costa Rica and Turkey were the two top countries for dental implants.
Therefore, I randomly sent a request for information on the internet and within no time Dr. URZOLA called me. He was so informative and spoke English so well, I wasn’t long booking an appointment.

Still, I had reservations and was hesitant about not knowing Dr. URZOLA and travelling to another country.

Remember I had done my due diligence, I knew from my doctors in Canada what I needed to do. Well, after Dr. URZOLA saw my X-ray he reviewed his plan for me and was bang on. On Feb 12, 2024, I had 10 extractions, 2 sinus lifts, 5 implants in the top and 7 in the bottom. It was about a 4-hour procedure. (My dentist in Canada thinks I am crazy to have all this done at once) but it is done! The worst is over! I am so happy I trusted Dr URZOLA, Christina and the staff!

Once the procedure was over, there were many follow-up checkups. Christina arranged for my pick up and delivery to the airport as well as hotel accommodations and drivers to their office and back to the hotel. It was hassle-free, and I am so grateful for this.

Over the length of time, I met other people who were just like me. In terms of spending a lifetime trying to save my teeth who didn’t want to spend their life dealing with floppy dentures and adhesives? They also were very pleased and confident with Dr URZOLA. What a relief! I too have no reservations. No doubts.

I will be returning to Costa Rica and to Dr URZOLA’s office to get two more implants on the top arch and my permanents at the end of June.

It will be great to see everyone again. And of course to have my new white permanent teeth! No longer have to deal with dis-coloured, wobbly teeth, numerous dentist appointments, infections and partials.

The whole experience from first contact through my temporary teeth has been awesome. Having an extensive medical history, I have experienced a lot of doctors, nurses etc. The respectful, friendly, truly compassionate staff including. Dr. Urzola, Cristina, Beatriz and staff were beyond what I could have ever expected.

Researching such an extensive treatment was daunting at best. (a lot of information, prices procedures etc.)  Dr. Urzola personally reached out to me upon reviewing my x-rays and gave me a clear and concise treatment plan. Cristina (patient coordinator) went well beyond expectations to make me feel comfortable in all the details of accommodations, air travel, hotels etc. I am so appreciative of my all on 6 treatment.  It makes me emotional thinking of the truly caring, friendly team Dr. Urzola and staff has provided me with a long-term solution that is beyond dollars and the treatment offered by dentists in the US.

Sidenote: Upon arriving for my first appointment a patient of Dr. Urzola approached me, showed me his teeth and bragged about what a positive experience he had. (I am one of those guys too) I Had a question after I got home and called their office, Dr. Urzola personally answered my call and had the answer immediately.

I chose Dr. Urzola’s clinic to do my long-needed dental work (full upper implants) due to online reviews as well as the fact that he called me on a Sunday after I put in an online inquiry regarding my needed dental work. The clinic is clean and has state-of-the-art equipment.

His staff is friendly and he and Cristina made it a very welcoming experience. I saved at least $30k having this procedure done at Dr. Urzola’s, not to mention the time which would have been wasted if it had been done in the US. Lifetime guarantee of work. We love Costa Rica! Friendliest people in the world! Can’t wait to go back in May for my final implants!

Dr Urzola was very informative, and knowledgeable, and made me feel comfortable with his analysis and recommendations for my dental work.

I went to Dr Urzola back in April to start My procedure I had my teeth removed and 3 days later I received my temporary teeth it was painless.
The staff was great they were all very knowledgeable and helpful with any questions.
I went back in August when my implants and bone were healed
They have the most modern equipment I have ever seen in the USA. The price in NC and SC were extremely expensive and they nickel and dime you til you are broke. The cost of my implants and permanent teeth. The USA only offered a 7-year warranty.

With Dr Urzola my cost was at least over 60 per cent cheaper and his office has a lifetime guarantee no matter what happens.
Cristina is such a great help in helping you arrange all the questions you may have about hotels you get a discount and a free ride from the airport to your hotel and free transport from the hotel to the doctor's office. This is December and having my new teeth is the best thing I have done for myself

I just finished my treatment at Dr. Urzola's office. I can genuinely share that Dr Urzola and his entire staff did an amazing job! When I first arrived at Dr Urzola's office five months ago, my mouth was full of deteriorated teeth. I had bad breath (due to the underlying infection that was going on in my mouth). I was very concerned that this chronic dental infection could potentially affect my heart and knew that time was of the essence to find a solution to my serious dental problem.

Having spent much time in Costa Rica, I was familiar with the best dental implant clinics in the country. I chose Dr Urzola as my first option due to a strong recommendation from a close friend who lives and works in Costa Rica.

When I first arrived in Dr Urzola's office, I found the facility impeccably clean and filled with the latest modern dental equipment. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised that both Dr Urzola and his staff are completely fluent in English. I decided right there and then to undergo a full evaluation and assessment.

Based on the panoramic digital radiographic study, it was clear that there was one part of my jaw that where the bone was not as thick as the rest. I was concerned as to whether or not I was going to need a bone graft before I could be a good candidate for dental implants. Based on Dr Urzola's professional opinion, he was able to adapt to my special circumstance via a surgical workaround which he performed. Thanks to Dr Urzola's expertise, I did not have to have additional bone grafted into my jaw! Thankfully, I was a candidate for full upper and lower implants. They made me an acceptable proposal, which was a good value; far more reasonable than the same service up in the States and very competitive within Costa Rica.

I proceeded with the removal and replacement of all of my teeth. The removal of my old teeth and preparation for my temporary provisional teeth was done on the first visit. I had my provisional teeth within a few days of the removal of my deteriorated teeth. All my friends said that I immediately looked terrific and many years younger.

I had my permanent beautiful precision-crafted teeth within five months of my initial visit. They are absolutely gorgeous and, best of all, my brand new "pearly whites" gave me back my radiant smile!

The level of personal and professional care from Dr Urzola and his staff was solid six-star! If you are considering having implants, I know that there are many options as to where to choose. I have been a medical professional for over forty years. As such, I have high standards. I know excellent and competent service when I see and experience it for myself. I give Dr Urzola and his staff my highest recommendation and appreciation for their services!!

I really like my new teeth like them more every day and I appreciate Dr. Urzola because I guess I bit him when he was taking out my teeth. I apologize for that.

I have to admit that I was a little unsettled before my All-On-6 procedure. Although I did my research and due diligence on Urzola Dentistry - including speaking with Dr. Urzola and a handful of his patients, I was still a little unsure of the process. When I arrived at the office for my surgery, I was relieved after speaking with a number of his patients who were returning for final visits or, in one case, a man who brought a friend after having the All-On-6 procedure a few years before. I only heard positive things in terms of the quality of service by the staff and pricing (1/4 to 1/3 of US costs).

The staff was attentive, caring, and professional, especially Adriana, who worked with me extensively and made sure that all of my concerns were addressed in a timely and caring fashion. There was a small complication with the first surgery, which was corrected the next day, so one thing I would do differently is extend my stay in Costa Rica for an additional day. Although I have had no complications to date (it's only been a few days since my last adjustment), I caused myself undue worry by compressing my trip.

Looking forward to returning in January for my final set of new teeth!

I received excellent treat meant from Dr Urzola and his staff. I could not be more happy with the choice I made to have him do 4 my implants. His prices are very reasonable compared to some others I checked out in the area. It was well worth the trip from Florida to have it done in Costa Rica as it saved me thousands of dollars. If you choose Dr. Urzola for your dental needs you will not be sorry as he is very kind and gentle .

I first heard about Dr. Urzola by a random person in Tamarindo so I did some research and found that he has good reviews.

I contacted Urzola's office and got very quick responses and quickly noticed that they seem to be very organized. That kind of organization lets me feel a bit more at-ease.

I had already gotten a couple quotes from other implant places in the US so I was aware of US prices and being quoted 1/3 what the US price is for the dental work made it a top contender. Shortly thereafter I talked with Dr. Urzola personally about my personal case and my existing implants and he really made me feel at ease.

I flew to San Jose, CR late February and spent a week there. They put me under with anesthesia and it was an excellent choice. It's a general anesthesia but not as deep as going in for a surgery. I had no issues with coming out of the anesthesia which was amazing because I have a history of not remembering where I am or having a difficult time coming out of anesthesia. It was a fantastic experience.

I had them do full upper and lower implants which meant removing all my existing teeth but leaving in place my current implant posts so they could be reused into the overall mouth reconstruction.

After removing my teeth they made me the temporary set which is essentially a type of dentures that is not removable. I left there with TEETH. Going in I had one tooth on the top of my mouth and I left with teeth! So amazing!

My mouth surprisingly didn't hurt so much the first week. Granted, I was on pain killers but I expected more pain. One thing I found really interesting is that Dr. Urzola stitched my gums together after placing some implants under the gums and that seemed to *really* help with healing and keeping food and bacteria out of the sockets.

I went back 2 weeks ago and got the finals and WOW! Let me tell you their zirconia finals are GORGEOUS. Seriously terrific!

I'll be honest, my second trip hurt more than the first because they had to open up the gums to get to the implants placed under the gums and those hurt because of inflammation when they tighten the implants down to it. It's to be expected and I had them put them on without anesthesia so that I wouldn't be bothered with numb lips.

Basically, I didn't have to hurt if I wasn't being vain but I really wanted to see my smile with lips that moved freely. I'm glad I did it this way because it allowed me to feel really comfortable with the fit and really lowered my anxiety even if it hurt (A LOT). If you don't like pain... just have them numb the gums and you'll be far better off. They offered several times... I just turned it down.

I did get to see the lab while I was there and I'm really impressed. It really is right next door to their office and the lab is outfitted with everything needed to do the zirconia including the initial blank cutting and the baking of the teeth at 938 degrees F. It was really great being able to see the lab, especially because I'm into 3D printing and I understand how the tooling the lab has works.
