Paediatric Dentist Consultation Dr Wayne Fahie
Job Title: Dentist Biography: Dr. Wayne Fahie has been practicing dentistry at Downtown Dental for more than 29 years. He started the practice right after graduation from the College of Dentistry at the University of Saskatchewan in 1983. He also obtained his BSc with Honors in Physiology before entering dentistry.
Currently a member in good standing with the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan and the Canadian Dental Association, Wayne attends many continuing education courses every year. These courses allow him to practice with the latest technology and dental treatments.
Wayne practices a friendly, low-stress brand of dentistry. He likes to get to know his patients and prefers they call him by his first name. (Perhaps this is because his last name, pronounced "Fay", is hard for most people to say correctly.) Part of the joy of practicing dentistry is renewing the friendships he has created with his patients at each visit.
Dr David Hastings
Job Title: Dentist Biography: Dr. David Hastings received his DMD from the University of Saskatchewan, graduating in 1983. Previously he had studied in Edmonton and received a BSc degree in Zoology from the University of Alberta in 1978. After graduation from dental school, he practiced in Vancouver for two years. In 1985, Dr. Hastings moved back to Saskatoon where he joined his classmate, Dr. Fahie, in general practice here at Downtown Dental.
Dr. Hastings is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, the Saskatoon and District Dental Society, and serves as a part-time clinical professor at the University Of Saskatchewan College Of Dentistry.
While providing his patients with modern preventive dental care utilizing “tried and true” technologies and techniques in a friendly, low-stress environment, Dr. Hastings has enjoyed the many friendships he has developed with his patients over the years.
Dr Michael Hammer
Job Title: Dentist Biography: Dr. Michael Hammer received his DMD from the University of Saskatchewan, graduating in 1986. After a short time practicing at another office, he joined Downtown Dental in 1988. Dr. Hammer is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, the Saskatoon and District Dental Society, and is an associate clinical professor at the U of S Dental College.
Dr. Hammer’s goal is to provide his patients with modern dental care in a friendly and professional environment, utilizing new technologies while still incorporating successful procedures and materials which have proven themselves over time. All treatment options are explained and discussed with the patients so they can make a well informed decision on any dental work they may require.
