Practicing endodontics in the area for more than four years. Originally from Mississauga, he attended Columbia University in New York City to attain his dental degree, returning there three years later to complete his specialty training in Endodontics. Dr. Karam Ashoo is committed to providing ethical, expert care with an experience that is both personalized and comfortable. He adopts the latest technology in his diagnosis and treatment, practicing endodontics at the highest standard. Throughout his career Dr. Ashoo has had an affinity for teaching and community involvement. He taught at Columbia University, and at other dental residency programs in New York. Currently Dr. Ashoo teaches at the University of Toronto, training residents at the graduate level. Dr. Ashoo has also lectured locally and internationally.

Biography:
DDS, FRCD(C) Graduate of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry. He completed a (Teachers Training Certificate) Residency in Endodontics in 1980 at Temple University in Philadelphia. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (R.C.D.C. (C)) in 1982. (He) Richard taught endodontics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at the University of Toronto for 25 years. He has been an examiner for the RCDC for 15 years and more recently he was the Chief Examiner in Endodontics at the College. He is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists that promotes ethical dentistry, and a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Richard has lived and worked in the North Toronto community since returning from graduate school. In 1980 he established (his) this practice, limited to endodontics, in the Yonge and Davisville area. Richard and his wife Judi have raised 3 lovely daughters one of which has chosen dentistry as her career. (He) Richard is passionate about dentistry and will do his best to explain any treatment you may require, as well as alternative treatment options and what prognosis you can expect.

Graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in 1981. After 3 years of general practice, he decided to complete his training in Endodontics at Temple University School of Dentistry, in Philadelphia, PA. Upon graduation from the Endodontology Program at Temple University in 1986, he received the distinguished Louis I. Grossman Study Club Award for academic and clinical proficiency in Endodontics. The author of numerous publications, Dr. Blackman has lectured locally and internationally. He has been on staff at the University of Toronto, as a lecturer and clinical instructor at Faculty of Dentistry, in the departments of Graduate Endodontics, and Undergraduate Endodontics. Richard was past Endodontic editor for the Journal of the Ontario Dental Association. He is currently a member of the American Association of Endodontics, the Canadian Association of Endodontics, and is a past president of the Ontario Society of Endodontists
