Dental Implants

Dental implants are titanium tooth "roots" that are used to replace missing natural roots. Once in place, they become firmly attached to the bone. After they are solidly affixed to the bone (this process is called "Osseointegration"), an artificial tooth is attached to the implant.

Mini Implants

Mini dental implants are ultra small diameter (1.8 millimeter width), biocompatible titanium alloy implant screws, conceived and developed over 50 years ago by Chercheve in Europe. Then, Dr. Sendax created a unique design of this innovative dental product as a transitional device to help support fixed bridge replacements for missing teeth. His novel theory was that mini implants could function free standing by themselves or in combination with natural tooth supports and/or larger conventional type implants. This was a revolutionary concept in dental science.

Dental Sealant

A Sealant is a clear, acrylic-like material that bonds with the tooth to help shield out the decay causing bacteria. They are a safe, painless and low cost way to protect your childs teeth. They are usually applied to molars since the pits and fissures of the molars are the most likely locations for cavities. Sealants should be applied when the first permanent molars (6-7 years) appear and again when the second permanent molars (11-13 years) appear. They need to be applied before the decay process begins.

In cases where they is a high risk of tooth decay, sealants may be applied to primary molars as well. Since primary teeth are "space-savers" for future permanent teeth, losing them to tooth decay may cause future orthodontic problems. Have your dentist assess whether or not sealants are warranted for your child.

Dentures

Complete Dentures - Complete dentures can be either "conventional" or "immediate".

Conventional dentures are made after the teeth have been removed and the gum tissue has begun to heal. They are typically ready for placement 8 to 12 weeks later, so a patient may have to be without teeth for a period of time.

Immediate dentures are made in advance and can be positioned as soon the teeth are removed. However, since bones and gums shrink during the healing process, they will require more adjustments to fit properly and they are less accurate in their initial fit. They should generally be considered a temporary solution until conventional dentures can be made.

Partial Dentures - A removable partial denture or bridge usually consists of replacement teeth attached to a pink or gum coloured plastic base, which is connected to a metal framework that holds the denture in place. Partial dentures are used when one or more natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw.

Invisalign™

Invisalign is a treatment that is created to straighten teeth without using traditional braces. The Invisalign requires a series of mouthpieces; also know as "aligners", that are replaced approximately every two weeks as the teeth begin to shift. Each mouthpiece is created with precise measurements of each individual to increasingly shift the teeth into place. Because the Invisalign process is so highly customized by our medical team of dentists, you will be able to achieve straighter teeth and the perfect smile that was meant to fit you perfectly. If youve been considering straightening your teeth but dont want to wear braces, Invisalign may be the perfect solution for you. The Invisalign straightens your teeth and changes your smile without interfering with your everyday lifestyle and needs. It is the perfect solution to get beautifully straight teeth now!

  • Highly Effective. Fast Results.
The results of Invisalign are noticed very quickly. Even before the treatment is complete you will notice straighter teeth and a brighter smile.
  • Comfortable.
The Invisalign mouthpiece has smooth soft edges that will not rub and irritate the inside of the mouth. If is also extremely lightweight so you wont even notice while youre wearing it.
  • Convenient.
The Invisalign is easily removed and is seemingly invisible thanks to the clear and lightweight mouthpiece, unlike traditional braces. No one will even notice you’re straightening your teeth!
  • Tailored Just for You.
Impressions of your teeth are made by our professional medical team in effort to create a mold for the Invisalign mouthpiece.

Oral Cancer Screening

When found at early stages of development, oral cancers have an 80 to 90% survival rate. Unfortunately the majority of cases are found as late-stage cancers, accounting for the high death rate of about 45% at five years from diagnosis, and high treatment related morbidity in survivors.

Found early, while still Localized (confined to the primary site), oral cancers five-year survival rate is strong: about 83%. Only 33% of all oral cancer discoveries fall into this category.
Found while Regional (after progressed to regional lymph nodes), the five-year survival rate drops significantly, to about 55%. Approximately 46% of all oral cancer discoveries are Regional.
Found late, oral cancers five-year survival rate is poor: approximately 32%. This accounts for approximately 14% of all oral cancer findings. Clearly, finding oral cancer in its early stages is key to survival. Routine VELscope Vx examinations can improve the morbidity and mortality of oral-cancer, because the VELscope Vx system assists in early detection, potentially saving lives through less invasive, more effective treatment.

Orthodontist Consultation

An Orthodontist diagnoses and treats problems associated with the positioning of the teeth. Crowded, crooked or mis-aligned teeth can cause problems with speech, tooth decay, joints, gum disease and/or may cause teeth to be chipped or lost.

It is generally recommended that children have an Orthodontic assessment by the age of 7. Since the jaw bone is still soft and pliable up until the age of 8, early assessments allow for corrections in alignment which may be much more difficult to correct later.

Periodontist Consultation

Periodontitis Treatment

Gum disease, also called periodontitis, occurs when a bacterial infection develops where the gums join the teeth. Harmful bacteria assemble in a complex structure called a biofilm and release enzymes that cause inflammation. If left untreated, this inflammatory response can destroy the supporting structures that anchor the teeth, resulting in receding gums and possibly tooth loss.

Bacteria associated with periodontal diseases can travel into the bloodstream and may result in other adverse health effects. Gum disease has been linked to heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancer and preterm births. This makes early detection of periodontal diseases very important.

Symptoms may include red, swollen and bleeding gums, persistent bad breath, and tooth sensitivity. Ask a dental professional about gum disease if you are experiencing any of these symptoms.

Periowave™ is an effective, minimally invasive, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory treatment, characteristics that make it ideal for the treatment of gum disease.
