After graduating from St. Christopher’s High School, Dr. Ponce attended the University of Western Ontario, obtaining an Honours Bachelor degree in genetics and biochemistry, with a minor in medical sciences. His aspirations to provide care to those in need impelled him to attend the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in downtown Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Ponce was also an active member of his student body, acting as a executive member of his graduating class student council and governing member of the Detroit Mercy Canadian Student Dental Association and the Alliance for Inclusion. Dr. Ponce is an active member of the Canadian Dental Association, the Ontario Dental Association, the Hispanic Dental Association, American Dental Association, the Lambton County Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, and other training and specialty organizations.

He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (DDS) from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2011, where he was named to the Dean’s List. He then completed a yearlong Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at St. Johns Providence Health System in Detroit, Michigan.Dr. Sherghin was the class Vice-President and served as an active member of several societies and organizations. He was the recipient of numerous awards and distinctions including the Most Cooperative Student Award, and Pre-Doctoral Achievement Award-International Congress of Oral Implantology as well as other academic awards and scholarships.Dr. Sherghin is an active member of several study clubs in the London area, the RCDSO, The ODA, and CDA. Although he is very busy he always finds time to support his community by sponsoring some of his young patients and their youth sports’ teams.

After graduating as an Ontario Scholar from St. Christopher’s High School, Dr. Mike attended the University of Western Ontario, and earned an honours BA with a double major in genetics and molecular biology. He then made the bold decision to attend the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in downtown Detroit, Michigan.He earned several awards and distinctions, including: Top Student in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics, American Academy of Prosthodontics Advanced Periodontal Surgical Award Top Student in Operative Dentistry, Academy of Operative Dentistry Top Student in Fixed Prosthodontics, Frank Vedder Society He is an active member of the Canadian Dental Association, the Ontario Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Hands-On Training Club, the Lambton County Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry and many others.
