Facelift
As people age, the effects of gravity, exposure to the sun, loss of elasticity of the skin, cigarette smoking and the stresses of daily life can be seen in their faces. Creases form between the nose and mouth; the jawline develops jowls, folds and fat deposits appear around the neck, and the cheek fat descends down toward the mouth. There are numerous cosmetic procedures designed to alter these changes, and sometimes the terminology is confusing. "Facelift" is the terminology used to describe a number of different techniques that are all designed to improve facial aging chages. A facelift can't stop the aging process. What it can do is "set back the clock," improving the most visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, and redraping the skin of the face and neck. A facelift can be done alone, or in conjunction with other procedures such as a forehead lift, eyelid surgery, or neck lift. The Endoscopic Midface Facelift is designed to elevate the middle part of the face; the cheeks and lower eyelids are repositioned. This procedure improves the irregular contours between the lower eyelids and the cheeks. Incisions are placed in the temples, the lower eyelids and inside the mouth. The fatty tissue and suspensory tissues of the lower eyelid and cheek are tightened and repositioned. Anchoring from the cheeks to the temple brings up the contours of the cheek. The eyelid tissue is redraped and anchored. This procedure is done under local anesthesia with sedation, and early recovery takes one to three weeks, but some of the cheek swelling may take two monthe to diminish. The S-Lift Facelift or Mini Facelift is a smaller version of the traditional facelift. In this technique, an S-shaped incision is made from the sideburn area down and around the lower ear. This incision is used to anchor and tighten the skin. Although the duration of the effects of this procedure is not as long as a traditional facelift, the recovery process and some of th

Treatment for Wrinkles

Treatment for Wrinkles
treatments for wrinkle lines and facial expression have become the most common cosmetic procedures in the United States. The reasons for this popularity include good results, minimal side effects, short recovery time and affordable price. These treatments work for several areas of facial wrinkling. These types of facial wrinkles are the result of squeezing of the muscles surrounding the area of treatment. They become more prominent with smiling, frowning, squinting, or during facial expression. Some examples include glabellar folds, Crow’s feet lines, forehead wrinkles, and lipstick lines. Glabellar folds are age and expression related wrinkles that form in the area between the eyebrows. "Crow's feet" lines form in the corner of the eyes toward the temple. Peri-oral lipstick lines and the wrinkles at the corners of the mouth can be improved. After years of raising the eyebrows, horizontal wrinkles form across the forehead. is used to decrease these types of wrinkles by decreasing the muscle's ability to squeeze. The medication does not work on the fine wrinkles created by sun damage, these are addressed with alternative treatments. It can be used in conjunction with tissue fillers and chemical peels to keep the wrinkles away.

Soft Tissue Fillers
Soft tissue fillers are used to treat wrinkles that occur when a groove develops in the skin due to gravity, loss of subcutaneous tissue, and/or repeated muscle contraction. The filler is placed into the valley of the wrinkle line to bring the skin back up to the level of the surrounding tissue. There are a number of excellent products that may be employed to as soft tissue fillers. Areas where fillers are particularly beneficial include: nasolabial folds, lips, marionette lines, tear trough, and volume augmentation for the brow.
