R. Laurence Berkowitz, MD makes every patient feel at ease. Not only is Dr. Berkowitz extremely skilled in advanced plastic surgery techniques, he is also compassionate and sincerely cares about each of his patients.
Awards
Dr. Berkowitz is always honored when he is recognized for his work. He has received many awards, including Metro Silicon Valley’s Best Plastic Surgeon award in 2009, 2010 and 2013. He was awarded second place in the publication’s “Best of Silicon Valley” in 2012. Dr. Berkowitz has also been named the winner of the Best VASER ® Shape Photo Contest by Sound Surgical Technologies.
Education and Plastic Surgery Training
R. Laurence Berkowitz, MD, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in art history at the University of Michigan, graduating cum laude. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Ohio State University College of Medicine.
Dr. Berkowitz spent the next six years at the University of Michigan Medical Center, where he completed residencies in straight surgery, general surgery and plastic surgery. He then served as a Research Fellow in plastic surgery at the prestigious Stanford University School of Medicine and as a Christine Kleinert Fellow in hand surgery at the University of Louisville.
