Brow Lift  
A browlift is an operation to try and reverse the effects of ageing on the brow and so rejuvenate the forehead to make it look younger. The operation usually takes between 1-2 hours to perform and is done either as a daycase procedure or else requiring 1 day in hospital. In its simplest form, the direct open browlift involves cutting away an ellipse of skin and muscle just above the eyebrow and stitching the wound closed with dissolving stitches. This can be very effective at elevating the eyebrow, but leaves a visible (albeit short) scar and cannot address the forehead frown lines. An indirect open brow lift involves either a long incision at the junction of hairline with the forehead, or an incision well behind the hairline which passes from the top of one ear across the scalp to the top of the other ear. Through these incisions (cuts), the skin and muscles of the forehead are reflected down and the muscles causing the deep frown lines are reduced. A rim of skin is excised from the edge of the incision so that when the wound is stitched, the eyebrows are elevated. The scalp wounds are then closed with dissolving stitches and the wounds are then covered with a bandage. For smaller elevations of the brow, for example about 5mm, an endoscopic browlift technique can be performed. This involves making 3-4 short vertical incisions (cuts) behind the hairline and passing a telescope connected to a camera through the incisions to show the surgery on a video monitor. Instruments are inserted through the other incisions allowing the muscles which cause the frown lines between the eyebrows to be reduced. The eyebrow is elevated by tightening the deeper layers of the scalp with stitches, but no skin is excised, and so a smaller elevation in the brow is possible with this technique compared with longer scar techniques. The advantages of an endoscopic browlift are that scars are small and can often be well hidden. The bruising and swelling may be reduced.

Rhinoplasty (nose job) is an operation to alter the shape and size of the nose and if necessary, to improve the nasal airway to allow more air to pass through the nose. The operation is performed under a general anaesthetic and takes between 1-2 hours to perform and requires 1 day in hospital. There are a number of ways a rhinoplasty can be performed depending on the specific features of the nose to be corrected. Essentially, the operation can either be done with all the incisions (cuts) hidden on the inside of the nose, called a closed rhinoplasty, or else with most of the incisions on the inside of the nose and an additional small incision on the skin of the nose half way down the columella (the thin piece of skin in the midline between the tip of the nose and the upper lip), called an open rhinoplasty. Through these access incisions, the nose is reshaped by a number of techniques, including reducing any hump on the top of the nose, augmenting any flatness of the nose with bone grafts, straightening the nose, narrowing the bridge of the nose by breaking the bones of the nose and resetting them, straightening the septum to improve the air passages, and altering the tip of the nose by either removing and sculpting the existing cartilage, or adding more cartilage to give better support. Of course, not all these techniques are required in every rhinoplasty, and some operations may be very simple, whilst others may be very complex. The wounds are then closed with dissolving stitches and the nose is covered with a plaster support.

I had breast enlargement surgery with Oliver Harley. After breastfeeding two children I finally made the decision to make the leap, I wanted to be like I was before the children! Wow, I can't thank or recommend him enough. The whole process from start to finish was quick and relatively painless. I had an overnight stay at the McIndoe hospital in east Grinstead where the staff were lovely and I felt very cared for. I was discharged the following day, back at work after a week and now, 6months on I really couldn't be happier with the finished product. The mans a miracle worker. I would honestly say, stop thinking about it and just do it! The money it cost wasn't a fortune and was well worth it for the way I feel about myself now.

What is Brow Lift? Browlift is a procedure to elevate the resting position of the eyebrows.  This also has some effect on the upper eyelids when there is some excess skin.  It is often helpful to combine brow lift with a procedure to remove skin from the eyelids (upper eye bag removal; upper blepharoplasty). How would I be helped by browlift? Browlift is intended to rejuvenate and refresh the appearance of the eyes.  It may also improve your field of vision if this has become reduced by a heavy brow or upper eyelid.  Frown lines on the forehead and between the brows are also typically smoother after brow lift. With advancing years the tissues of the face tend to descend with gravity.  Around the eyes, the brow moves to a position just below the upper rim of the eye socket.  Typically this is combined with an excess bag or fold of skin on the upper eyelid.  The result of this may be a hooded, tired, mournful or even fierce appearance to the eyes.  Sometimes a heavy brow can obscure peripheral vision and patients may be aware of heaviness, tiredness or headaches associated with straining the forehead muscles to keep the eyes fully open.

What is Rhinoplasty? Rhinoplasty is also known as a ‘nose-job’.  It is an operation which changes the shape of the nose to give a more aesthetically balanced appearance or perhaps to correct an established deformity.  There are a combination of changes which can be made to improve the appearance of the nose which include reshaping the bridge of the nose (usually reducing a hump), refining the tip of the nose, improving the projection of the tip, shortening the nose or narrowing wide nostrils.  The aim is to shape the nose so that it is more in keeping with the desired appearance of the patient and also in balance with the proportions of the face. What does the surgery involve? Rhinoplasty is typically carried out under general anaesthetic and you can go home on the day of surgery.  Sometimes a single night in hospital is advised.  The shape of the nose is determined by a framework of cartilages and bones.  Small cuts are made inside the nostrils to access the framework and reshape it.  Occasionally it is also necessary to have a small scar at the base of the nostrils or across the central strut (‘columella’) of the nose or tiny access incisions on the side of the nose.  The operation takes about 90 minutes. At the end of the operation a small splint and some tapes will be positioned and packs are inserted into the nostrils.  This is done to support the new shape of the nose while it sets.  Some cases are more complex and may require internal access to the central strut deep inside the nose ‘septum’ which is necessary to correct shape, airflow or to obtain cartilage grafts to assist with shaping the nose.  This is known as septo-rhinoplasty.

I can’t thank Mr Mcculley enough for the amazing transformation following a breast augmentation, this has changed my life and given me so much more confidence. From the minute I met Mr Muccully I felt completely at ease and trusted him 100%. Following having a child and losing a little weight I had become very unhappy with my breasts this affected a lot of aspects of my life, it took me a long time to make this decision and I wanted a natural look. Mr Mucculley advised partially under the muscle and gave me some advice around sizing for my frame and the look I wanted after a further consultation I decided to leave the decision to size to Mr Muculley I trusted him and his expertise completely. Valerie his secretary was fantastic at answering my questions and got me booked in working hard to get a date around my work commitments. Mr Muculley saw me on the morning of my surgery and confirmed everything the confidence he has in his work and his knowledge provided me with a lot of reassurance this was important to me before going into surgery. The whole procedure was seamless and recovery advice was given by Mr Mcculley has an open door policy and any questions I had after was answered.
