Acomb Chiropractic Clinic

I initially started using the Acomb Chiropractic Clinic well over 10 years ago when I developed a severe back problem. This was treated successfully and I have been going back ever since, whenever I get niggles of any sort. The nature of the problem is always identified quickly and bespoke treatment applied that solves the problem. I have never been let down. All the staff at the clinic are professional, courteous and friendly.

I have seen Jonathan for over 7 years. Went with a back injury done at work and now go every 2 months just to keep everything in working order. Always feel better after a bit of treatment.

I have been seeing Jonathan for many years and always find him very friendly and professional. He manages to sort out whatever problems I keep getting and I always leave with my pain relieved. Also, in addition, there is no problem trying to park as there are plenty of spaces. Friendly reception and lovely waiting area. I can honestly recommend.

As I have attended the Acomb practice for years, I have been aware of the experience of the practitioners and were they attended to compleat their courses.

The receptionists are most helpful and welcoming. They listen to you and help to get you an appointment of your choice.

I attended three times for back pain and numbness in one finger. A lot of massage was followed by a procedure in which the jointed central section of the couch was allowed to collapse an inch or two. This made a great deal of noise but appeared to have absolutely no impact on the pain. The practitioner also used a small spring-loaded "activator" to lightly jolt a vertebra, which was similarly unhelpful. Thinking I should give this time to succeed, I continued for three "treatments", after which I lost patience and went to another clinic, where the back pain (but not the numbness) appears, in one session, to have been successfully treated. I would not recommend Acomb clinic to a friend, nor do I think it good value: for me it was a waste of money.

I chose this clinic because it was the nearest to where I live. As a business model, this practice is clearly highly effective: as a treatment centre, if my experience is typical, the opposite is the case. I can only say that in terms of results, this clinic did me no good at all. I have a fair amount of previous experience of osteopaths over the years: due to a cycling accident, my back needs treatment every 3 years or so. All previous ones chiropractors/osteopaths have been effective. This one was not. The treatment periods were very short (15 minutes). Perhaps they might have worked better in someone whose symptoms were psychosomatic: the placebo effect is very powerful; or where the problem was muscular damage. But for me the whole thing was pointless.
