What are Varicose Veins?

Varicose veins, also known as varicosities, are thick and dark blue or purple veins that are seen in the lower limbs of patients. They are caused by damaged or poorly functioning valves within the veins. Surgical and nonsurgical procedures are used to treat varicose veins.

How are Varicose Veins treated?

Varicose veins are treated by making patients wear compression stockings, by helping them to lose weight, by sclerotherapy, injecting  a chemical into the vein to make it collapse, laser and radiofrequency assisted procedures, phlebectomy procedures, where veins are removed by making small cuts on the surface of the skin and by surgical procedures involving tying or stripping of the varicose veins.

Are Varicose Vein treatments painful?

Minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins are performed after administering local anaesthetic to the treatment area. Surgical varicose vein removal procedures are performed under general anaesthesia. Patients will not feel any pain during the procedures.

When will I recover after Varicose Veins treatments?

It takes about five weeks to completely recover from minimally invasive and surgical varicose vein treatments.

What care is required after Varicose Vein treatments?

Patients should take all prescribed medications correctly. They should wear compression stockings to prevent blood clots. They should not wear tight clothing or high heeled shoes. They should elevate their legs while sitting. They should not smoke or drink alcohol. They should not gain weight after varicose vein treatments. They should avoid strenuous exercise and lifting heavy objects for at least two weeks.

[Treatment name removed] Voluma I went for a consultation for one brand of dermal filler but was advised to have another brand. Having had 3 operations on my face, one side was starting to age much quicker than the other so it was time to see about doing something about this. Cheek fillers on one side of my face was the answer. The consultation was not rushed, was very in depth and all my questions were answered with honesty and my worries put to rest. I was advised to have a different brand of filler as the results were immediate unlike the one I wanted originally. With my facial history it was agreed that it would be better to see what was happening while it was being done, rather than a few months after. I went back the following week for the treatment. Once again everything was discussed and agreed upon in an unhurried way and I was fully confident I had made the right choice. This was only confirmed after my treatment. I had been worried about having a false, rabbit cheeked look. I only needed one side of my face done and it has been matched up to the other side far better than I had dared hope. The touch of relaxant injectable in the nasal scar tissue has had an amazing effect. The scars have relaxed so much, compounded with both sides of my face looking fuller and even. I am over the moon. This clinic is not the cheapest I understand, but the experience and service far outweigh the extra few pounds paid and I will be going back and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. I am simply over the moon.

Platelet-rich plasma filler I have not had any treatment done yet. However, the response from the clinic was quick and informative. A good start. I will be using the clinic in the near future.
