About Helen Cleland

I have been based in Gloucestershire since 2016 and run now my clinics from Cheltenham, Gloucester and soon Cirencester. My clinics provide my patients with continued support every step of the way - from consultation through treatment and aftercare. I ensure that the right treatments are given to solve not only their aesthetic needs but their wellbeing and self-confidence. I am very interested in the psychological aspects of mature women especially through menopause, an area that until recently was swept under the carpet. Many women struggle on a day to day basis whilst not understanding how they can help themselves with the aging process pre, peri and post menopause. A new range of treatments for men has been added; their needs and physicality are quite specific and need to be considered carefully. Full-facial analysis can be given during consultation and advise on potential treatments. The future is very exciting and I am really proud of the business I have created.

Chemical Peel

Scarring, acne, pigmentation, rosacea, reduction in pore size and oil production also wrinkling can be improved. Chemical peels are intended to remove the outermost dead skin cells. To accomplish this task, the chosen peel solution induces a controlled injury to the skin. Resulting wound healing processes begin to regenerate new tissues. You may experience some flaking with light peels and redness and skin peeling with medium to deep peels. A course of 3-4 peels will be more beneficial for optimal results. Chemical Peels can be tailored to you needs from oily to sensitive and pigmented skin. They can be layered for a deeper effect or if you don’t want much downtime you can opt for a light peel with little or no flaking.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers are designed to fill the area just under the skin. Properly applied Dermal Fillers can result in volumisation, definition, enhancment and hydration of the skin.

Hyperhidrosis

Our treatment consists of tiny, sub-dermal injections of a purified protein into your armpits. This medication will either reduce the sweat under your armpits to normal levels or stop them sweating altogether. It does so by blocking the neurotransmitters that stimulate the production of perspiration. You can be reassured that the sweat does not ‘back up’ and you will still sweat in untreated areas. The effect lasts for 6 to 9 months.

Microneedling

Microneedling - Helen Cleland
Micro Needling. Fractional lasers create vertical channels into the skin maintaining the integrity of the skin surface, stimulating dermal processes, leading to skin tightening and remodelling. Derma FNS™ uses multiple needles that vertically pierce the skin to create similar vertical channels which are designed to achieve the same effect. With minimal epidermal damage. The greater density of channels is thought to lead to enhanced results over dermal rollers. Derma FNS™ uses vertical insertions to create thousands of tiny holes in the skin causing the release of serum growth factors which stimulate the breakdown of old fibrous collagen and stimulate new collagen and elastin development. Derma FNS™ results are comparable in effect to ablative treatments such as Fraxel, IPL and Laser Resurfacing but at a fraction of the cost and with much less downtime and minimal damage to the integrity of the skin.

Mrs Helen Cleland

Job Title:
  Practice Director
Biography:
After qualifying in 1994, I specialised in Burns and Plastics as a theatre and anaesthetic nurse at The Royal Victoria Hospital (the centre of expertise in this field). I have a great love for learning and proceeded to study at Queens University obtaining a specialist degree as an Anaesthetic Nurse Practitioner. To further advance my skills I later qualified as Medical Prescribing Nurse. My enthusiasm in Plastic Surgery led me to non-surgical aesthetic procedures which seemed to be a natural progression for me at that time. I commenced aesthetic training in 2006 at a Birmingham practice and in 2010 went to live in Australia with my husband and two children where I continued in Aesthetics working with plastic surgeons and dermatologists in two practices in Adelaide. Continual improvement and training are so important to me and each year I attend a number of training programmes with the pharma companies to advance my skills and knowledge. As an Aesthetic Nurse, it has also been important to continue to increase my knowledge of facial anatomy which leads to safe, effective and fulfilling treatments for my patients.
