The NZVEIN clinic provides expert assessment and advice with regard to the latest treatment options for varicose veins in the Bay of Plenty. Mark Morgan is a specialist vascular surgeon and moved to Tauranga in 2004, having been a consultant surgeon in a London Teaching Hospital prior to emigrating to New Zealand. He was one of the first vascular surgeons in New Zealand to take up endovenous laser therapy for varicose veins, and has provided 'master class' teaching sessions for other surgeons in New Zealand who wished to learn more about this treatment. HIs expertise in vascular surgery ensures that you will be provided with a complete assessment with regard to your symptoms and concerns, and treatment options can include surgical as well as non-surgical approaches, depending on your needs. At the time of writing he is the only provider in the Bay of Plenty able to offer this range of surgical and non-surgical treatments.

Job Title: Surgeon Biography: Qualified from London University in 1989 and trained in Vascular and General Surgery in London and the South-East of England. Mr. Morgan was awarded (with distinction) a Masters Degree in Vascular Science and Technology from Imperial College London in 1997, at which time he created the ‘VascuQol’ questionnaire – an internationally renowned quality of life measure for patients with peripheral vascular disease. Moving to Tauranga in 2004 Mark has been active in improving Vascular surgical services to the Bay of Plenty and remains dedicated to providing services to the public health sector. He was one of the first Vascular Surgeons to provide Endovenous Laser therapy to patients with varicose veins in New Zealand, and is now one of the most experienced providers in the country. He has been awarded Fellowship of the Australasian Society of Phlebology.

She is a specialist in the treatment of thread veins. Her expertise in treating these unsightly surface veins with microsclerotherapy ensures you are in the best hands.
Ms Sally Shaw Biography: As a vascular sonographer, Sally will be the person who provides a detailed ultrasound assessment of your veins prior to any treatment. She is also integral to the treatment with both laser and foam sclerotherapy (both of which are ultrasound guided). Sally's experience with these non-surgical treatments of varicose veins dates from the time these were first introduced to New Zealand in 1999. She has set up her own business - FOCUS ultrasound - contracting out her expertise to the NZ Vein clinic.
