For the most part, I got what I wantedSue, Ireland, 28 09 18

My sister had trained with Ann-Marie so I decided to have a few sessions with her for shoulder and back pain. I was impressed with the way she worked and while I do think the treatment was worth the money, I’ve heard of other people not having to pay as much. However, I’m happy with the results. For the most part, I got what I wanted but I do plan on returning for more sessions. I’m not quite pain-free yet. The first session I had was around an hour and fifteen minutes and thereafter they lasted for 45 minutes.

Traditional Chinese Acupuncture is the world’s largest drug-free healthcare therapy. Acupuncture is a complex medical system that is used to diagnose and treat illness, prevent disease and improve well being. It originated in China more than 3,000 years ago and, due to its proven effectiveness, has been embraced throughout the world. It involves the insertion of extremely fine pre-sterilised needles at predetermined points on the body’s surface to restore health on a physical, psychological and emotional level. Acupuncture can be used alone or combined with other forms of Traditional Chinese Medicine, commonly referred to as TCM, which can include the following: Ø Moxibustion: a form of gentle and relaxing heat treatment, very effective for certain pains and achesØ Dietary Advice: which is specialised in TCM termsØ Lifestyle Advice: This forms a crucial part of TCM in terms of eliminating factors that contribute to the cause or chronicity of health complaintsØ Tuina: Chinese massage therapyAcupuncture is also compatible with other systems of medicine such as Western medicine. Since TCM promotes the body’s natural healing ability, many conditions can be treated. It is also a comprehensive system of preventative healthcare and maintenance. Its effectiveness is well documented and has established a solid reputation as a system of medical healthcare that works. Commonly Treated ConditionsThe World Health Organization (WHO) recognises Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine as a viable means of treatment for a wide range of conditions: • Migraine, headache• Back pain, sciatica• Sports injuries, sprains, strains, tennis/ golfer’s elbow, repetitive strain injury• Arthritis, joint pain• Stress, anxiety, depression• Fatigue, M.E., low energy• Hypertension, palpitations• Insomnia, sleeping disorders• Indigestion, heartburn, bloating• Constipation, diarr

Lorraine's Health Clinic

564 Howth Road, Raheny, 5
I have been practising acupuncture for 15 years and specialise in Acupuncture for Fertility and Gynaecology. I also have diplomas in Nutrition and Stress Management which I find extremely useful in the area of Fertility. I am also afiliated to Zita West who has written many books on Fertility issues. I also use acupuncture for Morning Sickness, Symphysis Pubis pain, Induction and many other problems associated with pegnancy. I also do a lot of Pre-birth Acupuncture which helps to promote natural labour. These treatments can help prepare a womans body for birth in particular preparing the cervix and pelvis for labour. This can result in an easier and more efficient labour. Of course I use acupuncture for other problems also such as Sciatica, Arthritis, Sinusitis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome,Insomnia, Stress and many more. Allergy Testing is also very popular in our clinic. I test for over 100 foods and substances and the results can be had within45 minutes. This test is pain free!

The therapist was extremely knowledgeable and professionalBarbara, Ireland, 06 09 22

Really appreciate that I was contacted quickly after leaving a voicemail to fit me in for an appointment on that day which was badly needed. I had a deep tissue massage which was extremely helpful towards my painful back. The therapist was extremely knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely be going back very soon.

Acupuncturist Consultation
Acupuncture is a therapeutic practice that originated in China thousands of years ago. In western medicine, the goal is often to diagnose disease and treat it specifically; in acupuncture, the goal is to strengthen the entire mind and body, supporting our inherent resilience and resistance to disease. According to traditional Chinese philosophy, our health is dependent on the body’s motivating energy (Qi, pronounced ‘chee’) moving in a smooth and balanced way through a series of channels (meridians) beneath the skin that connect the interior and exterior of the body, and the internal systems to each other. Qi consists of equal and opposite qualities – Yin and Yang. When Qi becomes blocked or disrupted, illness can result. Acupuncture aims to bring all systems into balance by inserting fine needles into the meridians. It can also be used to complement conventional medicine. What can acupuncture treat? Acupuncture has been used to treat a range of conditions including: *       Anxiety and depression. *       Arthritis and rheumatism. *       Asthma. *       High blood pressure. *       Menstrual cramps. *       Skin problems. *       Pain relief in childbirth. *       Addiction – smoking, alcohol and drugs. What happens during an acupuncture session? If it is your first session, the acupuncturist will assess your general health to ensure that you receive the most effective treatment. They may enquire about your current symptoms, treatment you have received so far, medical history, your close family’s medical history, diet, digestive system, sleeping patterns and emotional state.
