I had Gastric Mini Bypass with RenovatedMe in Antalya. They did all they said. Nothing less. Special medical insurance, Covidien Tri-Staple, translator, hotel everything was great. I didn't tell anyone that I was going to have the surgery. And I went there alone. Because of this I was too stressed, my anxiety was too much. But they didn't let me alone. Aybuke was with me at all consultations and later. UK Coordinator Ildem was always with me. Every time I got bored, she called me by video call and took my stress away. Hospital was clean and staff was friendly. The surgeon was also friendly and made you calm. Hotel was great seaside hotel with good staff. There was lots of patients at the hospital from different companies. I have lots of friends from there. Everything was smooth and good. I am sure I will sure use RenovatedMe again and always recommend.

Gastric sleeve surgery, or a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, is a surgical procedure during which a part of the stomach is removed leaving the remaining part to function as a new smaller stomach. The stomach is an organ which functions as a temporary food reservoir and it also produces hormones, such as gastrin and ghrelin. Ghrelin is associated with the feeling of hunger. Therefore, the removal of a large portion of the pouch can favorably alter the hunger hormone production. After a gastric sleeve procedure a patient’s food intake is decreased and they feel full faster. It is a bariatric surgery, which helps patients to lose as much as 50 to 70 percent of their excess weight.

The first attempts to treat obesity for the sole purpose of weight loss began in 1950s, when jejunoileal bypasses were done to induce a state of malabsorption (a condition when nutrient absorption is impaired). Despite reaching desired weight loss results, the procedure had too many post–operative complications to be deemed successful. The gastric bypass was developed years later, in the 1960s. The surgical technique went through numerous modifications in order to decrease the number of complications and is now one of the most frequently performed bariatric surgeries worldwide.

Sleeve Gastrectomy is weight loss procedure aimed at permanently removing 75% of the stomach to make it smaller. This means you will only be able to eat small meals. Your surgeon will explain the benefits and risks of having a sleeve gastrectomy, and will also discuss the alternatives to this operation. I contacted Renew Bariatrics in October of 2020. I was approved for Gastric Bypass shortly after the initial contact. My coordinator, Marie, was very thorough and sent me all the necessary documents to get started. I was then sent detailed instructions for my pre-op and post-op diets. I had my surgery on December 15th of 2020. The process was so easy, Renew took care of everything. I flew in the day before surgery, the driver picked us up from our hotel the next day and took us over the border. When we reached the hospital, I was given forms to fill out and was taken back for blood work, X-rays, and EKG tests. After that, I was taken to my room where the surgeon/nursing staff came in to check on me, ask me questions and insert my IV. All a breeze. The hardest part was waiting and not getting anxious. Dr Green came in and told me how the surgery would go, told me about my test results and then we were ready. About an hour or so later, I was in the operating room. I woke up feeling yucky but I just had major surgery, so of course. Went back to my room where I stayed for the next two days. Went to the Real Inn after that for the night and went home the next day. The whole process was a breeze and I’d honestly do it again in a heartbeat. Renew and Dr Green saved my life and I’ll be forever grateful.

VSG /Sleeve gastrectomy, also known as vertical sleeve gastrectomy, is a  procedure that restricts food intake in order to facilitate weight loss. Surgeons at MBC  have bee performing this procedure of the last 8 years laparoscopically, and remove approximately 85 percent of the stomach, leaving behind a small tube or "sleeve." Because the size of the stomach is dramatically reduced during this procedure, MBC gastric sleeve surgery patients cannot consume the same amount of food that they could pre-operatively. Over time, the restriction of calories and food intake, results in significant weight loss.   In addition, the removal of a portion of the stomach actually eliminates some of the hormones which can stimulate hunger. However, unlike other stomach stapling procedure, all of the stomach’s functions are preserved. This means that there are far fewer restrictions on the foods that patients can consume after the procedure. The amount of food that patients can consume, however, is considerably limited. As with all surgical weight loss programs, it is imperative that gastric sleeve patients adhere to a strict postoperative diet. Once goal weight is achieved, usually 1–2 years after surgery, most patients can consume about 1000–1200 calories per day.
